Yesterday Ma said to me “you must forgive me if I’ve told you this before Scoob but I remember exactly what I did 46 years ago!

I got on a motorbike a blue Honda 400-4 at seven in the morning and my boyfriend took us to Sligo.

We went clean across country. From the Irish Sea to the Atlantic Ocean. Ireland is small.

We enjoyed the little roads and had a good dinner and then came home. Our leather jackets were covered in dead flies!!!

We got into my house around 10:30 and made some coffee and turned on the TV.

About ten minutes later programs were interrupted to tell us that Elvis had died.

We woke up your Grandpa and Granny and we all sat and watched the news. Granny cried.

It’s funny you can remember every detail of those days when things like that happen.

That you’d had liver and bacon for dinner and that you all had tea after the news with custard creams because everyone was in need of a little comfort that the King was gone.

There is no doubt that I have great affinity with my Mother.

The reason is abundantly clear.

Our genes are deeply imbedded in a small island on the other side of the Atlantic that is renowned for being green.

Yesterday it felt so like home.

Showers on and off all day and cool enough for a sweater.

One thing that makes me think I’m not purebred is that I’m not a fan of rain.

Sure makes the grass grow great!

You know only too well that the Princess is partial to roadkill and forage.

The consequences can be particularly odorous after she has eaten dinner and is relaxing in front of the TV. Maybe she has a rumen!!!!!

It must be underlined that she may not be solely responsible for stink attacks!

There are certain persons who partake of large quantities of kale and eggs at lunch not to mention garlic pickles on their curry who can emit environmental pollutants in keeping with the Princess power.

It’s not Dad or the Bro although they are often accused!

Go figure why women always ask for perfume at Christmas!

Sometimes on a Sunday PBS does specials. Last night it was Andre Rieu in Venice.

He’s coming to Columbus with his big show so Ma was keen to see if it was worthwhile forking our the $150 for a ticket or not.

It was all very colorful and upbeat.

The bro gave his verdict that he would not be accompanying her by adjourning to his quarters to watch Netflix.

Dad endured the entirety but did utter the decisive words “is that still the same thing”!

Conclusion?

There is only so much waltzing a body can take even if your a Princess!

Precious Peeps It’s Pits. ‘‘Twas a bit stormy yesterday. Not nearly as bad at home as it was thirty mile north.

Granny had a tearoom full of ladies when the tornado sirens went off.

Since the historic habitation is of a distinctive narrow elongated form aka shotgun style there is no “interior” room or rooms without windows.

The safest spot is the single downstairs restroom that has a small window that is shuttered on the inside. It’s very decorative!

So she warned the ladies that they’d take shelter there if things got worse.

They’d have been like sardines in there but fortunately the tornado didn’t materialize.

It’s good to have a plan though just in case

Precious Peeps it’s Pits Perfect. I know I know so many posts in one week from one Perfect Pawson!!

Did you all realize yesterday was Lazy Day.

I did my best to comply but even when I’m relaxing I’m gnawing on something.

I learned that it takes a sloth one week to empty its stomach after a meal.

Aren’t they making pills that do that now.

Don’t ever try them. They’ll make you sluggish and sleepy.

If your hungry just grab a Nyla like me.

Keeps you sane and svelte.!

No lazy bones in me at all unlike a certain ugly Gizzard who just droops around.

We had a long line of storms come through last night. When you get to this time of year you expect them.

We should be so grateful that water came with the wind. When you see what happened in Maui you realize how awful wind and fire can be.

They are calling it apocalyptic. Thats a big word but it’s certainly super scary.

The winds have stopped now in Hawaii but so many people have lost everything.

With all that has gone on this year around the world we’re not complaining about being in Ohio!

As The Thing explained I was beset by burrs yesterday. Nasty!

They are miserable little suckers and they burrow deep into the fur. Quite the opposite to the fine Calibrachoa that Ma snagged in the bargain bin at Walmart this spring.

They are like mini petunias. Ordinarily she would avoid petunias as dead heading them is too much work but these beauties dead head themselves. A good shake or shower and bingo the job is done.

From one $7 pot we now have three great big planters going.

Note to self for next year get these again.

They don’t have any scent but stick them with Auntie Denise’s lavender that’s on its second season and we’re in good shape.

Always good to have a little perfume around.

You never know what nasty smells you can encounter on a hot day.
