Before we switch on TODAY I go out for a quick pee.

This morning we encountered a squirrel that dropped like a nut from our big pine tree.

It darted across our path into the cypress hedge that hides our electric box.

Now what I hear you all groan is so special about this.

Well here’s the thing it was a little red dude just like Tufty or Nutkin.

We are overrun around here with the grey variety that the niece does her best to catch on a daily basis and that is slowly dislocating Ma’s shoulder.

There are so many of them you fail to notice them unless you are a Pretty Pitty but that little red sure was cute.

Funny how just a change of color makes such a difference to cuddliness.

Maybe I’ll break out the hair dye.

Happy Mother’s Day! Hope you all remembered to get cards and gifts!

I rely on the bro to do the shopping for me and he always does a good job. He also includes “The Thing” in the package as her Mom is AWOL so her Granny is her subma

We like to make sure we don’t compete for attention so we always get Ma the same thing from each of us!!!

You can’t fail with candles as Ma loves them.

She burns them at the tearoom as well as at home so uses industrial quantities of the smelly stuff over the year.

Makes her smile when she sees them and we try to get the three wick wonders so when she lights them she thinks of each of us

Yesterday was the parents 37th wedding anniversary.

This is what they looked like back then. The photo was found recently by Auntie Lesley and was taken in New Delhi where the pair met up with her and Uncle Paul on their honeymoons.

Last night wasn’t quite as fancy an affair but Dad made Ma dinner as she had a busy day at the tearoom and then they ate some of the handmade chocolates that Auntie Marsha got them as dessert.

Food figures prominently in their adventures these days.

If they’re not making lists they’re going to the supermarket.

One aisle very definitely leads to another!

We have just about wrapped up the coverage of the coronation but before we close this chapter we thought you’d like a taste of London.

There is such diversity of food on offer but for Ma the best is Fish and Chips. she had it for dinner three times!!! The bro tried other fine fare like sausage and mash!!!!

Of course there is also lots of Indian food on offer and plenty of vegetarian options that made Ma think our Auntie Hema would have loved it.

Each area of London has its own character and each it’s own open air market too selling fresh goods. It really is a conglomeration of small villages.

If you fancy something fancy you can’t beat Harrods food hall. Just look at those chocolates.

Oh and of course we cannot forget Nestle the company that pays Mas pension who with Nespresso had the very best window of all!

Precious Peeps it’s PITS! I’m perfectly perky once more. Just needed extra TLC!

Granny snuggled me on the couch last night and showed me pictures of the trip. The stinky old gizzards nose was completely out of joint. Jelly Belly!!!!

What I loved seeing most was all the critters involved at the big event.

The horses of course looking very dapper.

The working dogs who were there to sniff out any danger.

The pigeons that come in all shapes and sizes

Most of though I liked Seamus. He’s the big old wolfhound who walks in front of the Irish Guards.

Admittedly he does bear a resemblance to my nemesis but he’s much bigger and cooler and I think has the habit of caring for Princesses so I’m hoping to date him some day.

Maybe next time there is a big event Granny will take me along like other families did with their pooches and I’ll meet him!

For now we’ll just have to write love letters.

Precious Peeps it’s PITS and even though Catherine looked well on the big day I’m still the Prettiest of Princesses.

I’m also poorly.

See what happened was I had a big brekkie at the spa around 8:00 am as they didn’t know Dad and Granny were going to pick me and Grumpy up as early as 9:00 am.

As soon as I saw Dad I bolted for the car and he put me in the trunk and Grumpy in the back seat.

Now as carriage go our trunk is quite spacious and I can stand up and look out but see those country roads did me in. Talk about “the long and winding road”.

When we got home I was wild thirsty so I drank a bowl of ADAMS ALE but it didn’t stay down. Put it like this Dad had a lot of cleaning to do.

That wasn’t all! When Granny went to get the groceries she discovered I’d left a gift in the car too.

All this made me feel weak so I’m resting up.

It’s so wonderful to have all my lovely cosy spots back to snooze on.

I love all the company at the spa but man it’s exhausting and noisy.

I’m so happy to be back in my own little palace with my own true King

Ma and the bro got to see the big coronation concert celebration on the BBC on Sunday night. It was like the icing on the cake!

Such a spectacular show and since they’d been to Windsor just a few days before it felt even more special.

Opera

Theatre, Pop stars and Princes.

Heck even Miss Piggy and Kermit were at it!

The drones said it all

It will be very unlikely!

Must rush now though because their return trip was uneventful so they are coming to pick me and the niece up this morning!!!

Sunday was the Bro’s day to choose what to do so stop reading now if you are faint hearted this is not a cuddle teddy story.

Being a fan of murder most foul the deal was a day spent on the trail of Jack the Ripper the most notorious of serial killers. Ma is not immune to a little true crime herself so she was all for it. Let’s go gory!

They headed to the Tower of London where they met Sam a Jack historian.

He took them on a walking tour of Whitechapel and all the sites of the slayings.

They walked the cobblestones and touched the remains of the Roman wall and saw the sites that the unfortunate victims frequented for their “mothers ruin”.

It must have been a lousy life they lived and their deaths were certainly horrific.

Sam speculates that the murders were all connected and that the secret service was involved in covering up the culprit.

They ended up at the Ripper Museum where many more theories were offered up on the identity of the vilain.

Who knows who did the dreadful deeds but the investigating vacationers sure got plenty of steps in!!!!

Even though they got up at 5:45 and were at Green Park before 8:00 all viewing points along the Mall and at Hyde Park were closed.

There was still remote hope at Trafalgar Square so Ma took off at her fastest pace for that point but the bro decided it was a lost cause. So they split to meet later at the hotel.

The Bro was right!!!!

By the time Ma got to Trafalgar the viewing points were also closed so she retuned with tens of thousands of others to the big screen viewing site at Hyde Park.

Even with the rain that soaked to the skin everyone enjoyed the experience very much. Lots of cheering and singing and people generally in good spirits from all over the world including a lovely lady from Cameroon called Blandina who lives in London and shared her brolly with Ma.

Both the Bro and Ma got to see the entire ceremony and even got a sense of the live processions seeing some of the guards and horses on their return to barracks.

It was certainly an unforgettable day clearly the King and Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales are very much loved
