ARETHA has been recalled! Something to do with her electricals. So after walking and baking Ma took off to the garage to get her fixed.

So you guessed it the MONSTER and me get to hang out again with Dad.

The THING is always trying to get me in bother with him and he’s always scolding me even though I do no wrong.

I just have to hang out and hope that the Queen of Soul’s problem isn’t too serious so Ma gets home soon for a siesta.

Well Mom just got home and Kairos 53 at the Ohio Reformatory for Women is a wrap. 37 new graduates stepped forward to be welcomed by those who proceeded them on this journey.

The responsibility for leading the next weekend has been passed to Ma so for her the big job begins.

We’ll have a rest for a few days but then the phone calls will start to recruit the team and the program planning will begin. Fall will be here in no time but I’ll be helping out calming her nerves and loving and listening a lot.

Beats taking day care of trouble hands down.

Yesterday they rolled out the prayer chain at the Kairos weekend.

We all put our paws together and said one at home along with lots of family and friends.

We weren’t the only peeps and pets praying because there are Kairos weekends going on all over the world not just in Ohio.

It’s amazing that so many people are involved in this ministry. We’re definitely in good company.

Makes for long days but when you open your daily devo and see this it’s encouraging!

I’m learning that in the Greek language you have multiple words for what we English woofers combine into one.

Take love as an example the Greeks have no less than EIGHT kinds. I can apply none of them apply to Pittys!

The Greeks also have different words for time. It’s not just the seconds on the clock it’s the significance of how the time is used.

Have you ever noticed when you’re on vacation it can feel like you’ve packed months into days or when your waiting for someone to come home time goes so slowly.

So while I watching the seconds pass longing for Mom I’m doing something with it and putting this paw to paper.

Mum starts her Kairos weekend today at midday so this means she’ll be getting us up at dawn on Friday and Saturday and Sunday and won’t be home till very late so the bro will be in charge of the evening « business »

If I don’t get my exercise of a morning I get very antsy throughout the day. As a creature of habit I have to let off steam. It’s so good for your nerves.

Since we’ll be lucky for the next days to get to the end of the street and back I’m planning on chasing the niece round the dining table at least twenty times and up the stairs at least ten times.

Dad will be fit for the hills so be thinking of him as well as Ma and her peeps!

This is the time of year when we canines are subjected to olfactory overload.

There is all the deliciousness of fresh mown grass that tastes so sweet when rained upon but cause minor digestive drama.

Add to this the appearance of blooms that even humans are knocked out by the smell.

Ma delights in bringing the bounty into the home and it would kill you. She adds insult to injury by placing them right beside the dreaded scented candle.

I’m heading for the door. Give me unscented air please lest I suffocate.

Precious Peeps it’s PITs here with a little philosophy.

While at the spa, apart from reinforcing the fact that I am fantastic, I thought often of my sofa.

I have a theory that it is among the best places on earth. How soft and deliciously lickible it is.

Add to that it’s the very best place to snuggle with my Granny and I conclude I could not be happier ………

Unless perhaps at the table beside Grandpa

Before we switch on TODAY I go out for a quick pee.

This morning we encountered a squirrel that dropped like a nut from our big pine tree.

It darted across our path into the cypress hedge that hides our electric box.

Now what I hear you all groan is so special about this.

Well here’s the thing it was a little red dude just like Tufty or Nutkin.

We are overrun around here with the grey variety that the niece does her best to catch on a daily basis and that is slowly dislocating Ma’s shoulder.

There are so many of them you fail to notice them unless you are a Pretty Pitty but that little red sure was cute.

Funny how just a change of color makes such a difference to cuddliness.

Maybe I’ll break out the hair dye.

Happy Mother’s Day! Hope you all remembered to get cards and gifts!

I rely on the bro to do the shopping for me and he always does a good job. He also includes “The Thing” in the package as her Mom is AWOL so her Granny is her subma

We like to make sure we don’t compete for attention so we always get Ma the same thing from each of us!!!

You can’t fail with candles as Ma loves them.

She burns them at the tearoom as well as at home so uses industrial quantities of the smelly stuff over the year.

Makes her smile when she sees them and we try to get the three wick wonders so when she lights them she thinks of each of us

Yesterday was the parents 37th wedding anniversary.

This is what they looked like back then. The photo was found recently by Auntie Lesley and was taken in New Delhi where the pair met up with her and Uncle Paul on their honeymoons.

Last night wasn’t quite as fancy an affair but Dad made Ma dinner as she had a busy day at the tearoom and then they ate some of the handmade chocolates that Auntie Marsha got them as dessert.

Food figures prominently in their adventures these days.

If they’re not making lists they’re going to the supermarket.

One aisle very definitely leads to another!
