We’re in that tropical sort of cycle where it is hot hot hot for hours until enough humid air rises to create a BIG thunderstorm.

JAWS is apoplectic with fear.

I do my best to calm her by licking her ears.

You know I am really quite a kind critter.

Still she goes in shaking until the storm has passed.

We have a friend who has a Pitty and it would seem their Princess does the same thing.

We have to check the forecast carefully for today because the pool party may have to be postponed for us canines since we can’t put you know who in the house if it storms as she may knock over paint or leave her in the truck as she might die.

Let’s see what happens worse come worse we’ll send the Bro and Ma with the first haul of shelves that have been cleared and I’ll stay home and take care of Dad and the niece.

Even though we have enough junk in our current house to sink the ark Ma can’t resist a bargain when she sees one especially if it’s canine.

So it was that yesterday on the way to the tearoom, having set Consuelo to work in the pool, she happened on a few yard sales.

She is like a homing pigeon when it comes to finding these.

She prefers things priced at a dollar or below so when this critter spoke to her and she saw the price tag of ten cents she just couldn’t resist.

It has been taken to the ranch and a pot of impatiens placed in its belly.

I am not too jelly as I know it is an inanimate object even though it has a waggly tail.

It might scare off a chipmunk or two but anything bigger will need to wait for my move.

Precious Peeps it’s sweet little meme here to whistle you into a wonderful weekend.

I have it on good authority from Granny that we’re all piling in the truck like the Beverly Hill Billies and heading up to the ranch on Sunday for a pool party.

I wasn’t so enamored with that swimming last time but since then I have been toasted to a crisp by this heatwave so it is sounding a little more appealing.

Granny also tells me she salvaged a toy for me from the heap that she found in the shed.

They have been irradiated by U.V. for the past four days so should be pretty safe to puncture by Sunday.

What are you doing this weekend? I hope you are as enthusiastic as me. It’s always good to be upbeat rather than grumpy like the Gizz.

Be like me keep those pearlies polished and smile smile smile.

I am happy to report that all the trash accumulated by Ma and Pa over the past week’s purging has been placed at the curb so I no longer have to negotiate walking around it in the kitchen.

Dad is busy working his way through a literal mountain of papers so I’m pretty sure that there will soon be more piles around.

It’s amazing how much junk humans accumulate.

We canines are much easier to house. All we need is a soft spot to sleep and a Nyla or two to help us manage anxiety.

As for dishes we share a water bowl and have only one vessel each for our dinners.

I think that humans need to learn from us and adjust the kennels accordingly.

Precious Peeps it’s me the PERFECT one here to help you happily over the humpty.

Yesterday I had a great day.

Granny was home and very energetic.

She took me and the stinking Gizz for an extra long walk because it was cool; well below 80F.

I was a tad exhausted when we returned but refueled and refreshed and was soon ready to chase the Grey goon around the dining table.

I’m strategizing as to how I’ll do this in the new ranch. It may be somewhat more challenging but enough of that.

For now I have to help Granny shred the accumulated junk that fills every orifice in this current house.

It’s great fun. I rip and I sip and then I rip some more.

She should have let me start this work some years ago.

Be like me helpful and happy and hopeful that every day will bring better bounty.

Ma went on a sortie with Consuelo yesterday.

I was miffed. This robot is getting more me time with her than I am.

Of course they went to the new ranch and while Consuelo cleaned the pool Ma got busy taking a mountain of trash out of the shed.

See when you buy a house “As Is” you get the junk as well as the house.

You would not believe the number of soft toys that were there not to mention all sorts of religious literature, DVDs, videos, no less than twenty pot lids, suitcase, tire, vintage electric equipment etc etc.

Took Ma four hours to get it all out to the side of the road.

She suffered two further yellow jacket bites and fond that the nest for those suckers is in the shed itself.

She’ll have to find a smoke bomb to sap them.

In the meantime Ma is basking in her achievement albeit as a somewhat wounded smelly hero!!

Well it wasn’t to be. Our local hero didn’t get the jug.

Both the niece and myself supported Ma and watched with hope and longing until we couldn’t keep our eyes open for another minute.

We can take comfort in knowing though that a good man got it.

Scotty sure is a cool dude.

Ma was delighted that the whole 18 hole event was accompanied by glorious sunshine that showcased the homeland to perfection.

Often when she sees coverage of Ireland like this she asks us why are we not there.

I wonder that myself!

Is there anything productive a person can do when the golf is on?

That’s Ma’s dilemma this morning.

We’re thinking maybe she can sit on the sofa surrounded by Dad’s hoards of papers and help him sort the wood from the trees.

That might result in family tensions on the scale of a nuclear explosion.

What else? Could we start wrapping glassware or china? Nah! That’s too risky with Jaws on the loose.

Maybe it’s best to just concentrate on the box and forget about doing anything other than cheering for Rory.

Off now for a quick trot before Ma heads to church where she’ll be praying for a hole in one for our lad.

Ma is living vicariously through my Auntie Sandra mother of my pawpal mate Frank.

See unless you are sleeping under a rock you’ll know that the British Open is happening in Northern Ireland at Royal Portrush.

This golf club is absolutely beautiful and rated second only to Saint Andrew’s.

Ma has never played golf beyond put put but she loves watching.

Auntie Sandra on the other hand is a former captain of her home course so is to put it modestly gifted.

Ma has been on to Sandra daily this week to see when she is going to the Open.

Well here’s what happened yesterday she went and she got to take this great photo of Northern Irelands hero the bold Rory McIlroy.

The whole world loves Rory so we are all so hopeful he’ll win another big one.

You won’t be able to speak in our house on Sunday!

Precious Peeps it’s me your absolutely Perfect Pitty here to project you into a most wonderful weekend.

I am hopeful that I’ll get to spend some me time with my Dad as he is fun.

The ancients are kind but Grandpa tends to scold too much.

Dad and I have long since concluded that Grandpa and Scooby were cut from the same cloth.

You can do nothing to please them. Even helpful housework like licking the sofas gets their nickers in a twist.

Granny is OK most of the time but she can get a little salty especially when she’s been working outside.

She tastes like a RItz cracker.

So all in all I’m praying Dad will take me out for a while so I can chill in his truck!

Be like me and stick your head out the window and let the wind blow in your face I just know you’ll find it fun.

Stay cool beloveds and be bold like your PERFECT PITTY!
