A very Happy Mother’s Day to my HUMOM and all you Mums out there reading this today !

Strangely it is not Mother’s Day in the UK they already celebrated in the middle of Lent. The origin of Mothering Sunday dates back to Medieval times and the days gone by when kids were sent off at a young age to work in stately homes.

Midway through Lent they were allowed their one day off for the entire year when they returned to their Mother Church and to go see their families and bring a gift of a rich Simnel fruit cake.

I am exceedingly grateful to my HUMOM that i get to spend every day with her and for all the snuggles she gives me even if they are at times a little too much for one so macho as me.

What I most appreciate are the daily trots she takes me on and the occasional spin in her emoji jalopy ARETHA.

Today I plan to be excessively kind to her and enjoy a very fine siesta and promise to be quiet when she’s watching Call the Midwife.

I might even smack her one on the lips

Sometimes you need a little God Wink just to let you know you’re on the right path.

If you have ever had a fixer upper you will know that it comes with its ups and downs and often the downs are more frequent.

So as Ma was being challenged with the sad fact that the deck was irreparable she happened on a joy.

Beneath her soon to be bedroom window she found a massive bed of Lily of the Valley in full bloom and flanked no less by masses of white lilac.

Thanks be to God!!

Precious Peeps it’s PITS here to wing you into a wonderful weekend.

What an exciting week we have had.

The election of the new Pope was so swift.

What a surprise too that he was as Bruce would sing “Born in the USA”

I know he spent a lot of time in Peru and probably knows some bears who eat marmalade sandwiches but isn’t it great that he’s from only six hours up the road.

Robert Francis Prevost is of French, Spanish and Italian origin. Granny worked with a guy called Prevost in France and is convinced they must be related.

All I know is he a polyglot and picked a corker of a Canine name. You can’t be bad if you have a lions heart and to boot he looks so kind and handsome. Bet he speaks Pitty too!!

I’m a bit miffed that the Bro got to go with Ma to the new ranch yesterday and I had to stay home.

He was working there on his day off cleaning the garage and getting ready to paint it.

I was told that it has rained so much the pool is about to overflow and the back yard is like a swap.

The yard is full of dandelions but can’t be cut because it’s so soggy.

Having heard all this I resigned myself to the fact that I was perhaps better off at home with Dad even if it’s still stinks of paint and varnish.

At least I got to have a good sleep in the warm rather than a roll in the muck!!

Precious Peeps it’s PITS here to help you over the humpty.

I trust you live somewhere less wet than Ohio like Ireland.

I am fed up with this constant drip drip drip. Two weeks of non stop rain.

Go ahead and say it “you sound like the Grey Gizz” and yes you are correct!!!!

If you live with a moaner it does tend to rub off on you under less than ideal circumstances.

My grumpiness has been amplified by the odor of paint and varnish that is pervading my home.

Remember when I was young and cheerful I scratched the doors and stairs well they have all been repaired.

Now I have been warned that if a tiny trace of my nails appears again there will be trouble.

More than likely I’ll have succumbed to the solvents by then.

I hope all this makes you feel like you are better off than me.

I’m a poor poor Pitty

Well yesterday was fun!

We got to go do lots of little chores in the car with Ma. The only downside was she took Jaws along too.

First we went to the Dollar Tree and stocked up on poop bags. For those of you who don’t know you get four rolls for $1.25. That’s like a fraction of the price elsewhere and they are good quality too. we bought about a million so we’re good for a few more trots.

We also got shampoo and cheese puffs and cookies. All tried and tested and given the family seal of approval. If we had a crest we’d give one to the Dollar Tree.

Next we hit Walmart for printer ink and mini cup cake papers and tiger balm for Dad’s back.

We then went to the Canine Collective from whence I came to off load a metric ton of aluminum cans. For those of you who are local be aware that the CC collects them to fund future rescues like me. It’s worth the trip.

Off we went then to source granite for the new home. Alas the place our contractor sent us had closed its doors and merged with another supplier so we went there.

Turned out it was just two miles from our house but I didn’t complain as it meant a few more miles in the car. They only had quartz so more road trips foreseen soon

Do you have days when you just veg

Well yesterday we sorta did that.

Apart from church and grocery shopping it was a home day.

It was too wet or threatening storms to walk far so we did just two one milers morning and afternoon.

The bro was working so Ma said she and Dad were having leftovers.

That was a matter of tossing cooked pasta in a pan with some chopped up tomatoes and asparagus from aunty Marsha’s garden and covering it in a layer of shredded cheese and sticking it in the oven.

I’d have eaten it but didn’t get a chance. The two ancients noshed it up.

Sometimes a rest is good for you because this morning I’m raring to get going.

Ma sometimes stews before she explodes.

She’s a bit like a pressure cooker!!!

Yesterday as you know she was busy but before she left for her day inside she heard that HRH HARRY had done it again.

Another day another interview.

So of course when Ma got back she had to watch the BBC blabla it in its entirety.

I was subjected to it too.

Man is that dude a whiner!

Seriously I thought Ma might throw the remote at the TV.

It is rare that she dislikes someone.

I know that because she puts up with the niece but that dude ranks up there with Elon in her don’t even dare mention him list.

Thank goodness for William and Kate and all there sweet souvenirs of days out at the seaside

One of these days I just might dump Ma.

She can be quite unfeeling at times.

The number of short trots is increasing exponentially and I’m fed up with it.

Take this morning. She is off to the prison and has to be there by 8:00am so I got a short shift around the yard and that was it.

“Oh don’t fret Scooby” she says “Your Bro will take you for a walk”

My foot!

With him I’ll be lucky to get let loose to pee.

I need that long walk to get things moving.

It is totally unacceptable.

She better make up for it with some serious amount of pizza this evening!!

Precious Peeps it’s me again to wing you into the weekend.

I may have some competition at the new ranch when it comes to taking flight.

Seems we have acquired at least one new family member.

Granny says that if there is a drake around he usually has his hen close by.

Ducks are very faithful fowl and mate for life.

Maybe they’ll have chicks that I can chase.

It would be so much more fun than hounding that horrible Gizzard.

I’m just a tad jealous that “Donald” got to plunge in before me.

I’ve selected a name for his wife already can you guess what it might be?
