Wagging Tail-1496

Precious Peeps Pits Perfect here for a hump day holler.

Yesterday morning I was doing my very best to help Granny in her conquest against the naughty nibblers.

We’d just returned from the park and as we approached our garage a great big bunny took off out of the lilies that have been delicately deflowered daily by the said savage and his sort!

In my endeavors to assist in his capture I almost dislocated the old gals shoulder and she could hold me no longer.

Both me and the Gizz took off after him into the neighbors yard towards the woods. The Goody Goody he’s so Goody Gizz returned on call but I pursued the prey and was no where to be found.

In spite of much searching I was still missing after thirty minutes!

Fortunately Dad had been called to the rescue and I was discovered by him relaxing in the neighborhood in a sweet sunny spot.

Granny has threatened me with grounding or a homing device if this happens again.

It’s just not fair that I do my best to help this family and all they do is scold. Except Dad of course who forgives me always.

The temperature dropped about 25 degrees over 24 hours so yesterday felt like fall already.

This inspired Ma to chop.

We usually put the slow cooker into hibernation for the summer because it’s too hot for stewy stuff but not yesterday.

We grabbed a load of veggie bits and bobs that were looking a little tired in the fridge and fired them in with some chicken breast cut into chunks.

Since the Bro has a big appetite when he works the late shift we chopped up a few carrots and spuds and onions and threw them in too along with two tins of corn.

If nothing else the mix looked colorful.

It’s cooked for four hours before we turned it down to low and add a good drop of cream.

To be posh we called it chicken chowder but we nose you know what they say about roses.

Auntie Denise is relocating significant parts of her garden to our yard in bid to help Ma combat the critters.

Today large quantities of flowering sage that are seemingly indestructible were dibbled in at various point.

Chives followed!

Interesting that these, along with the mighty mint, all have purple flowers.

So we are wondering is it the color that puts Bambis and Bunnies off or is it simply the strong smell and taste.

Let’s see how they do. So far the oregano is holding its own against the visiting diners.

Being somewhat audacious Ma also decided to risk it and plant a tomato plant she picked from the gleaning table at church beside the oregano and chives.

This will be a test of the ability of the mighty herbs to nauseously nuke the nibblers.

She did surround the little love apple with a good few guards to give it a fighting chance!

You know Ma is very patriotic and also into seasonal decor!

So it is that I am currently surrounded by Union Jacks and Star Spangled Banners.

We get plenty of China when we celebrate their New Year so the Bro is covered

I suppose I better get used to it as I’ll have to entertain many nations at the White House.

Poor Dad never gets to fly the Indian flag so I’ll make a point of inviting Modi G over as soon as we’ve settled in.

He can be my first guest.

Maybe I’ll have my relatives accompany him. That would be a fine surprise and they could bring those spicy snacks Ma loves so much and Dads favorite sweets too!

It will be a diplomatic coup

Precious Peeps Pits Perfect here to sweeten up your Saturday.

Hope you had a good start to the weekend and have taken time to chill.

I’m hanging loose in the sun.

Tanning is not necessary for me as it’s impossible to improve on perfection but Granny does benefit from a change in hue.

She’s terribly pale. The Irish disposition just like the stinking Gizz.

They are used to rain and wind whereas I’m made for the good life!

Follow me and keep up the good work.

Yesterday we watched some of the memorial services for the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

Thanks to people like Tom Hanks we have some sense of what it must have been like for all those soldiers landing in Normandy.

The tributes were touching and tremendous

Ma says she will never forget visiting the site and seeing all the thousands of graves of those who died in just the space of a few hours.

I can imagine that seing this really reinforces the significance of what they did. Still even sight unseen I appreciate.

Apologies if you get Banter about ten times today but WordPress has been poorly.

Ma is mad! Angry not crazy! Well she’s crazy too but y’all know that.

The bunnies have a burrow under our tall grass and they have eaten all the annuals she planted in the yard even the DUSTY MILLERS.

This is a first as normally nothing touches these not even deer!Maybe they are young and don’t know the dangers of the dusty and will have tummy troubles and leave all alone from now on.

They also chewed one of auntie Denise’s prize tomatoes right down to the soil. Pity they don’t eat mint as that’s growing like a weed all over the yard.

Me thinks BBQ Bunny with mint sauce sounds quite good. YUM YUM YUM!!!I’ve told Ma to let me and the niece chase them and catch them and eat them as a snack but she says it would all get too messy.

Precious Peeps it’s Pits Perfect here to get you over hump day.

I don’t want you to expect this every week as I intend to be otherwise occupied.

It’s so stinking hot here, especially in my chamber on the second floor, that even with the AC and fan on I’ve been awake half the night.

I’m contemplating leaving this kennel and taking a dive into auntie Denise’s pool.

It is my understanding that certain pampered pooches are also being given spa treatments to cool off.

I’m lucky if I get a bowl of ice cubes but they get the works, bath, massage, hairdo and fancy fruit work to boot.

The world is ill divided.

Such attention should be spared for deserving causes like mine and not given to any pups other than perfect ones like me. Devoted fan will be considered also for the best treatment so I count on you.

Fight for my right!s!

Mom says this happens sometimes and is irresistible.

You think of something your Mom made and you want to eat and you just have to have it.

So it was that yesterday after her trip to the dentist for her professional clean and polish she had to find parsnips.

She snagged two pounds of them at MEIJER. They were peeled and combined with equal quantities of carrots, boiled to death, mashed with tons of butter and served for dinner with pork chops.

So much was made that even the Bro was saturated and incapable of eating everything

So the good news is Ma is happy this morning too because she will be having her favorite comfort food again very soon; for lunch!
