Booming Banter

There is theory and then there is reality.

In theory you should get treats if you are good.

Sometimes though you get them to shut you up.

That is until the giver of good things gets completely bummed with your bad behavior and vacates the room.

If that happens it’s a fate worse than death because you are stuck watching CNN again.

So take my advice; shut you trap!

Blessing#1851-Smart Behavior

Of a morning around 6:00AM Ma sneaks out of bed to get her phone before coming back beside me to do some quiet catch up on Facebook and emails.

It’s at this time she says hello to Venus the “Morning Star”. Today the moon was in the picture too.

There is something very reassuring about the position of the planets. Kind of sets you up for the day knowing that they are still where they should be.

I snooze while she does her check on the world and then when the sunrises we shake ourselves and get up to get the coffee.

By this time the picture in the window has changed but we know behind the pinks and blues there is still our neighbor hanging in there in our Solar System. We are all set!!!

Blessing#1850-Heavenly Bodies

On Sunday we always listen to Dana Bash on CNN she’s one of our favorites. Always so smart and polite and balanced in her opinions.

Of course she was covering the horrible war in Israel.

Much of the reporting came from a city called Sderot that Mom had been to for work. Nestle has a big operation there making snacks, culinary products and breakfast cereals.

When you see a place you know it hits home. Ma of course thought of her friends.

It must have been really tough for Dana to present all this news because she is Jewish. She handled it all so well and ended with a prayer she said is used at every funeral.

We’d never heard this before but thought it speaks volumes and was worth sharing.

To avoid Ma having a total meltdown Dad has stepped forward to help her with Kairos.

She has collected hundreds of sign ups for the big prayer chain that is wrapped around the room during the weekend at the prison.

She’s meant to transpose these names to strips of paper that are then interlocked to make the chain.

This is not a task for persons lacking patience like Ma.

Dad is doing it with my help. I’m keeping trouble at bay.

Isn’t he a good soul!!

Precious Peeps it’s Pits Perfect!

Its official! I am NOT the worst dog in the land.

Much as I have been maligned by a certain Grey Grumpy who hopes to get to the White House, the honor for the worst dog in the USA goes to “Champion” Biden.

He has been banned from the mansion for biting a slew of people and was sent back to Delaware to spend time with Major who was also partial to human flesh.

I am so delighted as this give me the opportunity to serve as First Lady.

Now wouldn’t that be swell. Don’t I look picture perfect? Oh well maybe I should rub that yogurt from my muzzle! No First Lady should be seen with food on face or teeth.

Blessing#1847-Opportunity Knocks

Sometimes of a morning I like to have the doggie equivalent of breakfast in bed.

After a quick pee I like to sit with Mom and watch the TODAY show.

So Ma being Ma indulges me and brings my brekkie to the living room so I can lie and eat it while watching TV.

It’s so relaxing. No head down tilt eating.

I’m so spoiled but there’s a good reason for that it’s because I have endure the THING currently scraping the bros bedroom door.

Fortunately Ma can’t deal with her until she’s had her second cup of Joe and that gives me plenty of time to clean my bowl.

Blessing#1846-Easy Does It

Here’s a question for you. What’s the most frequent thing you wash that you don’t intend to?

For Ma it’s pooper bags because she has them in nearly every pocket. You should share how they come out if she send a whole roll through the machine.

For Dad it’s cough drops because he has those in every pocket too.

Now for the bro it can be a variety of things from credit cards to tools but what he’s best at doing is getting a nice oily black sock in with his white tees and towels.

Now most everything he has, that once was white, is a sort of color that matches me.

Perfect for family bonding.

Every day there is another “Historic Moment” in the USA.

This is why y’all need me.

Enough of this division.

It’s all so juvenile.

Brinkmanship is the word that springs to mind.

Glad the screen guild writers are back to work because the only good that will come out of this will be a Lincoln like movie.

You just could not make this up!

Blessing#1844-Oscar Potentials

Dad is more than a little in love with Judge Judy. He is besotted by her.

We watch her ever day when Ma is at work.

Yesterday he had her on when Ma was working on her computer and the case was all about a dog so I listened in too.

This couple had divorced and they were disputing who should have the dog.

Judge Judy said at least five time that “I’m not going to cut it in two” which shocked me a little.

So I looked at Mom and she explained that long long long ago even before she was born King Solomon of Israel was faced with a similar dilemma.

Two women came to his court claiming they were both the mothers of the same child. After much rambling and debating Solomon said the only way to solve the issue was splitting the baby in two.

The false Mom agreed with him but the true Mom went into hysterics pleading with him to give the child to the other women as she could not face seeing her baby hurt.

That’s how he knew who was the real Mom and so he ruled ink her favor.

There are famous paintings all over the world about this and when Mom showed me this one it reminded me of a certain person!

They can split her in two anytime as far as I’m concerned.
