We went to the bluffs to smell the milkweed but we were too late, the blossoms were all gone.
For such a beautiful scent we think it is unfair to call this a weed especially as it’s the primary source of food for monarch butterflies. Anyway we saw many other little beauties that we hope you love.
There were daisies and clovers and other things we aren’t so sure about.
Most importantly there were plenty of fruits on the blackberry bushes so I know Ma will be keen for a return trip soon to forage in the forest.
She’s convinced that we should eat these wild things because our ancestors all did and it must have been like their natural immune boosters.
I’ll go along with that if only for the walk!
