Wagging Tail-1685

It was a funny old day yesterday. Ma had to go early for her biennial bone density measurement.

She forgot that she shouldn’t take her multivitamin and calcium supplement and they were down her throat before you could say rock and roll.

She kept quiet and no one asked so she may come out 500 mg stronger than previously recorded.

When she came back we went for a walk. Weight bearing exercise is good for the old spine and joints and she bears a lot more than she did last time she had her scan.

After we returned I heard her ask Dad if he wanted to go out with her.

He said sure and they took off at eleven thirty

By then it was pouring so I reflected that it wasn’t walking weather even if she’d been home and that the best thing I could do was snooze and dream of brighter days.

Well let me tell you there is only so much snoozing a guy can handle.

When it turned three I was beginning to panic. Dad never stays away that long!

Maybe they had been kidnapped!!!

By four I was apoplectic with worry and when it turned dark at five I started to howl. Each second felt like an hour until finally I heard the garage door open and in they walked with a gigantic bag full of thrift store purchases.

If I hadn’t been so hungry and desperate for a pee and glad to see their wrinkly little faces I’d have taken a bite out of them.

So it was that when I opened my correspondence from cousin Krishna just now that I thought how ironic that I just lived a day that felt like a week.

Bet you’ve all been there too.
