Wagging Tail-2138

Ma just told me that she has a skelf in the index finger of her right hand. She’s not sure when she got it. I wasn’t sure what it was until she explained that it’s a tiny sliver of wood or glass or maybe a thorn and it hurts like crazy.

I told the old gal she ought to walk around the streets on four bare paws and then she’d know what pain is all about.

I give mine a good old licking as a means of therapy so I’ve offered to treat he paw too.

Isn’t it strange though how a tiny thing can hurt if it’s right on a spot you use a lot. If that skelf had been on her elbow she’d maybe never have noticed.

Its presence however has resulted in me leaning a new word. For you who like me were unfamiliar with SKELF its of Scottish origin derived from Gaelic.

Now that I know it I’m going to use it as in just give me a skelf of cheese please!

See if you can find an opportunity to show off today too!
