We have to take joy in small victories and what better than to know we reached a milestone with our stories.
It’s very therapeutic doing these daily doses of dribble.
See not only are we looking for a blessing we’re also off loading our frustrations and gloating in our glory and now and then we get to laugh at ourselves too.
Keeps the grey cells active too.
They’re like muscles you know if you don’t use them you loose them.
If you want us to keep fit please like and please share our stories.
See, since her countryman Rory McIlroy was doing so well at the Memorial Tournament and since we can literally see the airship above the course from our town she said she had to go to cheer him on!
She had no tickets so the bro said she was mad and had no chance of getting close and that he’d stay home and care for us.
Undeterred she took off just after lunch.
She parked in the A parking lot no less that requires a permit but was assured by a kindly soul that it was unlikely that there’d be any more checks this late in the day!!!
She took a chance and the courtesy bus to the entrance. Talk about cheeky!!!
Of course she couldn’t get in but nonetheless took a few photos though the fence to show the glory of the clubhouse and the course.
She returned and picked up her car and then on her way back crept very slowly like a sleuth past the only part of the course that can be viewed from the road and who do you think she thinks she saw?
Well who else was wearing a yellow shirt and white hat? Maybe a million others BUT in Ma’s mind it could only be one man!!!!’
Another case of being in the right place at the right time only this time she saw TheKing of Golf on the DUBLIN Road!!!!!!
May’s Mom and Auntie were noshing in our yard this morning.
They had a good breakfast of wild honeysuckle before they adjourned for a cool down under the tree where we found May yesterday.
It’s hot hot hot here and not a drop of rain in the forecast.
Ma is feeling so smug that she didn’t go out and buy a trunk load of annuals as she usually does because all she has to water are the plants on the patio.
Even at 7:45 when we go for our trot it’s hot.
It’s making the roses bloom though! The ones at the tea room are looking fab.
They are as old as the hills those plants maybe even older than Ma!!!
It’s that season again when spotted creatures appear in our yard.
Yesterday the bro spotted one when he was helping Ma wash the window screens. This dude looked about a week or two old.
This morning our neighbor Alicia texted Mom a photo of a new born one she’d seen on Cardinal Hill.
We were just on our way out when we found yet another one curled up under our tree.
Auntie Denise came and inspected before it took off into the wood behind our house. We think it was about a day old.
We didn’t get a picture of it as it was too fast but we did gaze into its eyes momentarily.
Since it’s the 31st today we’re calling this one May!
Any appearing tomorrow will have a very obvious name!!
Memorial must have told them we’re A+ for pasture and protection at our nursery. Exactly one year and one day since she was born. Wonder is she related to Miss May?
Yesterday we walked miles in the morning just in case it got too hot later.
We then took to shredding. I made good progress on the KONG. All it took was finding a little weak spot and voilà it was destructible.
Next we cleaned windows.
Granny found and used a make your own recipe of one part vinegar to six parts water with a drip or two of Dawn that worked perfectly. We dried them with newspaper. How’s that for frugal fun!!
They are so sparkly I have to be careful I don’t walk through them.
We made chili even though it is as hot as hades and walked some more when that was cooking and then collapsed.
What a beautiful Memorial Day with absolutely fabulous weather.
Daddy said he’d take me and Grumpy to the parade in town to see Granny walking with our church. Auntie Lori organized it and there was a big turnout.
He backed out though as the ugly uncle still has a dodgy tum and he was afraid he’d have to go in the midst of all the masses so we had to look at pictures instead.
There were many other puppies there so I’m a bit miffed Dad didn’t take me but Granny did meet another Pitty whose parents invited me over for a play date. they have a fenced yard so fun to run!!!
Just as well the old Gizzard was confined to our kennel as he would have been chasing the Penny farthing bicycles and vintage cars and embarrassing us enormously.
I’m most sorry to have missed the band and the cheer leaders though.
They’d have been a riot to excite and to dance with.
Some smart person must know how often Pentecost falls on Memorial Day weekend. Well it happened in 2023 Easter is over so the bunnies and eggs have at last been replaced by the red white and blue.
We kept the coronation Union Jacks up beside the star spangled banners since they match the color scheme!
Thanks for all your concern about my GI issues. I have been switched to a no gluten no soy no color no preservatives no nothing except rice and meat diet.
It’s much tastier than the other stuff and that along with my being hungry prompted me to clean my bowl.
If it doesn’t do the trick I’ll be making a visit to the docs on Tuesday for fine tuning. In the meantime I’ll be munching much more.
