I’m sure all you gals had a wonderful International Women’s Day.

I know Ma did. She got some seriously good steals at her favorite rummage sale including a straw hat that actually fits her big head.

She thought ahead too to next years cold weather and got a pair of UGGs for taking me out for my morning pee and some good brand new gloves too.

Who knows maybe we’ll still need them this season.

Add to this a sweater cape combo, a fancy top, some yarn to crochet for her nerves, two table runners for the tearoom and a sweat shirt for the bro. Most importantly a WELCOME SUMMER sign for the yard!

Are you ready to spring forward? I know I am.

It’s great when it gets dark later because Ma is more likely to take us for a decent trot of an evening.

There’s light to pick up the poops without recourse to a torch.

All we need now is to have a little more consistency in the temperature.

It’s like swings and roundabouts here. We’re done with the attic blasts.

Ma only walks past six if it’s “pleasant”. She says she’s too tired to go far late in the day unless spurred on by sunshine. It’s like her energizer bunny.

Let’s just be thankful we weathered the winter and don’t forget to do your clocks tonight and enjoy staying up later too!

Precious Peeps it’s me you Perfect Pitty here to project you into the weekend.

Granny has been busy cleaning out her Facebook feed. She says there is no way to know what your friends are doing if all you ever see are advertisements.

So methodically she has been going through “unfollowing” sites she never remembers “following” in the first place.

Maybe they’ve been around since COVID lockdown when there was nothing much else to do.

Regardless she has been busy.

The feed is almost as clean as her intestines.

Now that she is feeling veganly virtuous about that she says she’s excited to go shopping at her favorite rummage sale of the year that starts today.

I’ve told her it is OK for her to buy a few teacups and party paraphernalia provided she brings me back a squeaky and one for the Grumpy Gizzard too so I can shred them both this Saturday.

Here is a discovery for you. Porridge oats made with soy milk taste better than those made with whole cows milk.

I can attest to this as Ma gives me some of her brekkie each morning and it is yummy. Somehow sweeter but needs a little longer cooking to get thick.

Also you will be please to hear that scones made with whole wheat flour, soy yogurt, produced may add by Dad, and walnuts and raisins are also A+.

They are high in protein so will be my Ma’s go to staple for lunch when smothered with peanut butter.

The soy yogurt let me add that Dad lovingly made last week has been used also as the base for smoothies and salad dressing and it performs very well.

LAs a yogurt per se it is a little brittle the curd separates from the whey but dad is perfecting the art and no doubt the next batch will be brilliant.

I am really into this as Ma is letting me taste everything.

Not sure I’ll be as enthusiastic six weeks from now but heh ho there is always the tidbits from the boys plates.

Precious Peeps who else could you wish for than me your very own Pretty Pitty to help you over the humpty.

We hope our beloved Dolly Parton is reading this as we know she is facing a mountain of grief.

Her darling husband of forty years has crossed the rainbow bridge.

Carl was so cute in the few pictures we saw of him and according to Dolly loved her for who she was when he met her in a laundromat at the age of eighteen.

He shunned the limelight and went on doing his thing.

While she wrote so many great songs and sold millions of records he laid asphalt.

A perfect example of The Priesthood of all Believers.

Ma has been stewing on this for sometime.

Y’all know she loves to have crazy challenges.

The latest is for Lent.

She is going vegan.

No eggs or meat or fish or milk.

She is making one concession for pizza on Saturday. That’s the only day she doesn’t do the cooking and Dad does a big pizza.

So since vegan cheese sucks we’ll be having real cheese pizza. No meat or sausage just cheese which will be a challenge in itself for me and the niece.

Yesterday Dad and her went to stock up on all her requirements for these endeavors.

The pantry is coming down with beans of all sorts and the fridge is laden with soy milk.

Since the males are not taking part in this adventure I’m happy to report that Ma will still be making them meat.

If not I may have had to move to Auntie Marsha’s to hang out with Libby Grace for the duration.

I still may need to if Ma’s methane production becomes intolerable.

I am not quite sure how the eco balance equations work but she tells me she will still emit less green house gas than a ruminant!

I will give you updates on her state of mind in due course.

Oscar night is always fun. Well it’s fun for some!

Ma was thrilled that she had a surprise bonus.

Of course I kept the niece quiet but that wasn’t it.

She was given a half bottle of good cabernet to sip while she watched.

It made her feel like she was on the red carpet and she said it was like a present direct from Phyllis who loved to share a RED RED WINE!

Well did you see the astronomical epic that hasn’t occurred in 400 years?

Well as directed by the experts we looked heavenwards just after the sun set but we couldn’t see the moon let alone the aligned planets as there was so much cloud cover.

HOWEVER, Casey Jones comes in useful at times. He gave a great toot around 12:30 that woke us up.

We could see a glimmer of light through the blinds so we pulled them up and sure enough there before our eyes was the once in a lifetime event.

Now our bedroom faces west rather than southwest so wise men among you may say what we saw was not what we think we saw.

We’re sticking to our story though and feel confident that when you look close enough the universe rewards you.

This is a joint statement on behalf of myself and the niece.

We are having to take very good care of our humans as they have suffered a terrible loss.

Auntie Phyllis our dear friend from Ireland passed away on Friday morning.

She was like an Auntie to the Bro and never once forgot his birthday and Christmas.

Mum and Dad got to know Phyllis or PC as they called her when they lived in Switzerland. They were very close and when PC moved back to Belfast where she was born they always stayed in touch.

Phyllis spent many vacations with our family in the USA, China, Switzerland and France.

She was so funny and generous and loving but intensely private too.

You will be glad to know she was also a dog lover and we are certain that in heaven today she is with her Mum and Dad and of course her darling puppy kids Angus, Zach and Dougie who crossed the rainbow bridge before her.

We will always remember her and know she will always be with us in spirit.

Precious Peeps it’s Pits Perfect here to project you into a wonderful weekend.

You won’t believe it but the temperature has swung to a crazy balmy 55F.

Now remember dear reader that this time last week it was a full fifty degrees lower!!

Can you wrap your head around this.

Of course we are delighted as it means no ice so longer trots.

However with such a swing comes a storm.

There was thunder on Wednesday that led to a whole round of Facebook post. So loud was the boom that people thought there’d been a bomb.

Even the Grumpy Gizz who is never afraid of the heavenly hollers, was scared so go figure how I reacted. Everything was shaking.

More rumblings forecast today in the meantime must march.
