The great thing about having diversity in the household is that you can cheer for many teams.

The niece and me were born in USA so that’s obvious but if the USA is not in line for a medal we can cheer for the bro born in China or Dad born in India.

Ma gives us additional options. See she is British being from the North of Ireland but when Ireland is in the medals we forget all about the border.

So it was that yesterday we were beyond happy to see Ireland win bronze in ladies breaststroke. First swimming medal since 1996.

Way to go Mona. Be sure to take a trip to the louvre and get your pic taken with your name sake. We reckon you’re a lot prettier!

The bro took Dad out yesterday afternoon for their soda and snack shopping while Ma went visiting a friend.

I was left home alone in charge of everything including the niece. Oh man the responsibility!!!

Ma came back first and we went for our siesta.

We “arose” to a fine surprise.

The boys brought home flowers!

Now it’s not a birthday or anniversary or valentines or Mother’s Day so Ma nearly fainted and asked why?

Well Dad ever the romantic explains, not that he was inspired to do so by her beauty nor by her dedication to the family but wait for it “Kroger had them on offer”

He’s a sucker for a deal is Dad but now we will have Ma in a good mood for a few days.

So are you glued to the TV watching the games? We are.

It’s very inspiring.

I think I should get in shape because when the games come to L.A. in 2028 I’ll be President.

I’m sure I’ll be expected to demonstrate my athleticism.

I think I’m best suited to track and field events.

Maybe the high jump or hurdles.

Anyway, while we watch I decided to get going with a few stretches and a little light exercise.

There will never in the history of the USA be a President as Fit for Purpose!

Priceless!

Ma came home a bit early yesterday to see some of the opening ceremony for the Olympic Games.

She was just in time for Switzerland, home of the international Olympic Committee, sailing by!

We then were subjected to a rerun of the bits she missed.

Must say that Paris place is pretty cool even in the rain.

Did you know that Ma worked there and from her office she could see the Eiffel Tower sparkling on the hour each evening!

When she went on trips by train to Nestle HQ in Switzerland she’d get in late at night to the Gare de Lyon and follow the Seine in a taxi from the station to the office at Issy Les Moulineux to pick up her car.

So the epic events of today were familiar territory.

That flag ceremony and then that torch ceremony were incredible! The FLAME! Ma was crying buckets.

It’s such an amazing place. I think I’ll make it my first stop for a state visit. After all they did send us the Statue of Liberty.

I’ll be expecting Gaga and the unbelievable Celine to sing for me too! Oh and I’ll plan to arrive by balloon.

Precious Peeps Pits Perfect here to project you passionately into the weekend.

I am feeling very optimistic about the prospect of a woman in the White House. It’s time for us girls to take a stance.

Now, me as her VP would be ideal but I fear that that might be just too much estrogen for the country to take at one time so instead my intent is to seek a cabinet position.

Don’t you think there should be a Chief Happiness Officer?

I could make everyone smile. Giggling is defined good for you.

Just think of all the money that could be saved if we could prevent illness with laughter.

So to get us going here is one for you to share. It’s from cousin Krishna who’s a medic so he knows all about this!

Let’s trot tribe!!!

I have a pawpal in Northern Ireland called Hero. He is aka the BRD (big red dog).

Now he is a very happy chappy unless it rains. When this occurs he gets stubborn and won’t walk. Just like Naughty Nala!

Now as you know in The Emerald Isle it rains regularly so Hero takes it out on his toys.

His Mom is a doctor so she’s teaching him the basics of surgery.

He is getting real good at cardiovascular conditions. Open heart is his specialty.

I think though that he is a natural coroner.

Since I’m working now on key positions I’m thinking he’d make a great surgeon general.

Usually I am sufficiently funny to pen a piece myself but this one is so good and so appropriate for the many parents and grandparents who read our page that I could not resist.

Thanks to cousin Krishna for this classic!

A son walks into the living room and asks his dad to borrow the car because he has a hot date. The dad says, ”Sure, as soon as you cut your long hair.”
The boy smiles and thinking he has outsmarted his dad replies, ”Dad, Jesus had long hair…”

And the dad replied, ”Yeah, and Jesus walked everywhere he went too, didn”t he?”

Enjoy dear disciples and we’ll talk Friday. Off for a trot now!! Just do it like Jesus!!

It was a yucky Monday morning. Not only did Ma have to leave us with Dad and go to work but it rained too so we only got a tiny trot.

I reflected on the future.

Would there be storms ahead?

Will I make it to the White House now that the competition is more youthful.

Even in doggy years I’m still the youngest.

Maybe what’s most important is my ability to be responsible even for naughty nieces.

I’m real good at ball games too.

So what a big change in the race for President.

I’ll now have to review my strategy.

It’s looking like it will be a lady, the current VP, that I’ll be up against but who knows.

What I want to say though is that my heart hurts for President Biden.

Not just because of his Irish heritage, like my own, but because he worked so hard for so long and then it felt like the carpet was pulled from under his feet.

Sad but inevitable! An epic emotional event!.

Well you know I thought the IT issue had no impact on us, well it did.

Ma was meant to go to the prison for the day on Saturday for a “retreat” but it was canceled due to the glitch.

Since she’d taken no bookings at the tearoom, in view of her anticipated absence, she decided to follow through on that part of the plan and stay home.

We stayed in bed till 7:00. Very late for us and then took a good trot with the niece before returning to watch the golf from Scotland.

We were just in time to see the hole in one of Si Woo Kim. AMAZING I was awestruck!

The parents then went off to get the groceries and I guarded the homestead.

We then made scones for the week. Usually this is done on Monday but since Ma was off on Saturday she had taken a booking for Monday to make up for lost revenue. All very convoluted.

If you’re wondering how they stay fresh fear not dear followers we freeze them!

It was then time to get some more sleep and pretend it was Sunday.

All in all an unexpected sabbath of sorts and an unexpected two day weekend after all.
