Wagging Tail-1503

Precious Peeps it’s PITS Perfect here to get you over this very hot hump day.

To say I am gently glowing is an understatement. I was so hot on the way back from the park yesterday that I had a little roll in the grass.

It is my belief that piggies know a thing or three about cooking off.

Now I’m no Miss Piggy but that grass on my little naked tummy sure feels fine.

Unlike Granny who drips out sweat, all I have to cool be is my tongue and bare tum. So when the licker has been lengthened to the max a girl gotta do something to preserve her poise.

I don’t know how the stinker survives with that fur coat on all I know is he sure stinks worse than usual.

We are setting out very early with Auntie Denise this morning to get the steps in before the sizzle starts so must rush!

We’re cooking!

You could scramble eggs on the payment and cook hotdogs on your hood.

Even though we go out early it is still sticky at seven am.

Ma is very good to us and doesn’t press us to move fast but in the evening we stride like slugs when we go out for our business.

It only takes a day or two like this and you’re praying for rain.

None in sight for the whole week.

We’ll be well fried by then and somewhat smelly too!

In the cool of our home must chase the niece round the kitchen to burn off a little steam!

I know yesterday was Father’s Day and of course I got my Dad a present.

Bet you can guess what!

A book bien sur that Ma snagged in a sale of course!!

Guess what!

I got a present too!!!

In recognition of my endeavors as a surrogate father to the naughty niece my beloved Auntie Lori got me not one but TWO bags of Milkbone Minis.

I am beside myself with happiness.

It recommends that they be used for training purposes so I may give the niece one or two.

May! May not!!!

We all had to keep our traps shut yesterday morning because Ma was concentrating on watching The Trooping of The Colour!

(Note that on this occasion we overwrote the autocorrect spelling of color as we are true Brits!)

Ma was particularly keen to give the Princess of Wales a good look over. She had previously inspected the King at the Normandy ceremony and proclaimed him fit for duty.

Kate looked stunning but Ma is concerned she is a tad too thin.

My feeling is Ma is just jelly that she is so svelte and Ma is chunky! Don’t tell her I said this!!!!!

It’s great that the PoW is back in action.

We all love her and Ma always cries when she reads messages that the PoW issues as they are so down to earth and sweet.

We’re hoping she’ll be able to make Wimbledon with her family and friends as she deserves some fun after all she’s been through.

Great to see her beaming on the balcony.

Precious Peeps Pits Perfect here just to assure you I’m OK.

Several of you reached out the paw of friendship to me following my post of yester morning

I’m totally fine! Sometimes you just got to speak your mind.

While it is true as the gospel that I do totally hate the stinking Gizz’s slobbers they can put me off to sleep.

So it was that in my slumber I encountered a critter worth chasing.

Granny said my tiny tootsies were going a dinger.

If only our bunnies could get to be this size I’m sure they couldn’t move so fast and I’d be in heaven.

Can you imagine the feast! Heck I might even share some with you know who.

Precious Peeps Pits Perfect here to get your weekend off to a swinging start.

Hope you’re planning some fun.

Alas I am not, unless that is I take flight like the bluebirds that live in our trees.

If I could I’d run away to a land over the rainbow where grey Gizzards don’t exist.

I’m so totally fed up with the the furball.

He insists on slobbering all over me as though he cared about my well being.

I wish he’d melt like a lemon drop.

My life is no joke!

Anyone got some good poison?

Ma has been to a lot of places in her life but she still has a lengthy bucket list.

Up close to the top is Pompéi. So she was gripped with interest when a spot on new discoveries at the site was reported on the TODAY program.

A palatial building that had been buried for two thousand years has only just been found.

It’s absolutely pristine and a vibrant sky blue color features prominently.

Not only that there are murals with dogs included.

I knew these Romans were smart.

Do you think she’ll take me too when she goes?

Sometimes it pays to wait a while before rushing to see something.

Precious Peeps Pits Perfect here for a hump day holler.

Yesterday morning I was doing my very best to help Granny in her conquest against the naughty nibblers.

We’d just returned from the park and as we approached our garage a great big bunny took off out of the lilies that have been delicately deflowered daily by the said savage and his sort!

In my endeavors to assist in his capture I almost dislocated the old gals shoulder and she could hold me no longer.

Both me and the Gizz took off after him into the neighbors yard towards the woods. The Goody Goody he’s so Goody Gizz returned on call but I pursued the prey and was no where to be found.

In spite of much searching I was still missing after thirty minutes!

Fortunately Dad had been called to the rescue and I was discovered by him relaxing in the neighborhood in a sweet sunny spot.

Granny has threatened me with grounding or a homing device if this happens again.

It’s just not fair that I do my best to help this family and all they do is scold. Except Dad of course who forgives me always.

The temperature dropped about 25 degrees over 24 hours so yesterday felt like fall already.

This inspired Ma to chop.

We usually put the slow cooker into hibernation for the summer because it’s too hot for stewy stuff but not yesterday.

We grabbed a load of veggie bits and bobs that were looking a little tired in the fridge and fired them in with some chicken breast cut into chunks.

Since the Bro has a big appetite when he works the late shift we chopped up a few carrots and spuds and onions and threw them in too along with two tins of corn.

If nothing else the mix looked colorful.

It’s cooked for four hours before we turned it down to low and add a good drop of cream.

To be posh we called it chicken chowder but we nose you know what they say about roses.

Auntie Denise is relocating significant parts of her garden to our yard in bid to help Ma combat the critters.

Today large quantities of flowering sage that are seemingly indestructible were dibbled in at various point.

Chives followed!

Interesting that these, along with the mighty mint, all have purple flowers.

So we are wondering is it the color that puts Bambis and Bunnies off or is it simply the strong smell and taste.

Let’s see how they do. So far the oregano is holding its own against the visiting diners.

Being somewhat audacious Ma also decided to risk it and plant a tomato plant she picked from the gleaning table at church beside the oregano and chives.

This will be a test of the ability of the mighty herbs to nauseously nuke the nibblers.

She did surround the little love apple with a good few guards to give it a fighting chance!
