Yesterday we went to the park for our trot with Auntie Denise.

Nothing unusual about that.

As we were arriving at the pond to visit the goslings out of the blue who should arrive but Auntie Lori with her husband Tom.

They’d come to feed the geese and ducks.

Ma sees Lori all the time at church and for girly get together chatty chat lunches but I hadn’t seen her for a few years.

During Covid shutdown when Lori had no school to go to we’d meet at her house every day and she’d walk with us to the pond.

She always had a bacon bit for me too.

I was so excited to see her my whole body was wagging as well as my tail and she fussed and hugged and cuddled me so good.

She didn’t of course have a bacon bit on her but that didn’t matter at all. It was the love that counts and it made me so very happy.

Precious Peeps it’s Pits here to accelerate you into a spectacular weekend.

Granny is worked off her little paws this week at the tearoom which is great for snagging treats!

She’s cut off more crusts than you can count and has assign Grandpa to use them to make croutons for home!

Needless to say that will result in some quality control that I’m happy to assist with.

That though is not the piece of wisdom I wish to convey to you today.

As you venture out for fun times always remember what my hero advised some years ago.

Don’t ever try to fit in. Be yourself and hold your head high and no matter what always think of yourself as perfect even if people say you’re the PITS!

Ma saw this post on a friends page yesterday and she said that she could totally relate.

See dear reader when you have two dogs and there are deer on both sides of the road you feel the pain when each takes up the challenge.

Ma is strong, that by the way is the Chinese definition of robust or if you are less than kind fat, but this gravity helps secure you if you have fifty pounds of Pit on one arm and forty pounds of perfection on the other.

It still hurts the shoulder some so she is offering lessons to any in a similar situation on how to steer your way along the straight and narrow.

Words like BACON help!!!

Precious Peeps it’s Pits Perfect here with giggles to get you over hump day.

If this were not true I would have told you but Granny is GOOFY!!!

You will not believe what she has been doing for the past half hour.

Well she was typing for me and had an Ah Ha moment. She realized her blessing count was off.

Anyone with any sense would have ignored this and typed on but no we had to find were the mistake originated and fix everything.

Fortunately this was only 44 blessings previously or we might have been here for days.

Mind you that might not be a bad thing as the stinking storms are here again and I’m shaky.

Still just reflect when you have a hiccup today that this is not nearly as bad as claiming 400 more blessings than you have yet encountered especially if you happen to be a tad obsessive about such details and are ever hopeful of being syndicated by the New York Times.

Should you receive 44 banters today thank you for your patience and understanding.

I’ll be back at the weekend storms permitting yours ever and always PITS PERFECT!

We had a cool Memorial Day!!The storms brought a radical reduction in temperature and so we had a long walk in the morning.

Auntie Denise and Ma were scheming about going to a big garage sale that some of Ma’s antique dealer pals were hosting.

After baking a bit Ma took off to meet Denise and the two disappeared for a few hours.

Ma returned full of joy as she had snagged a super sweet little vintage item for the tearoom.

She didn’t find it at her pals place but at another sale just across the road.

She already has plans for what to fill it with for parties.

Cup cakes are obvious but we’re thinking pretty little bowls with olives and almonds and pickled onions would look swell for cocktails and Christmas.

It really is a beauty. I think we must practice packing and emptying it soon.

One of the things we do when storms wake us up is play “Who Would You Like to Meet“!

Now this is nothing at all like singing “My Favorite Things”. Ma ain’t no Julie Andrews! Nothing sweet about my old gal.

No we get to grips with history.

Of course the obvious names always come to mind first; Jesus, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens but we have to seek someone out that’s going to give us some surprises.

Early this morning we hit on King Canute.

Now most people have heard the story of him sitting on his throne on the beach getting his paws wet trying to turn back the tide. We of course will want to know why he bothered to do that.

Of course we had to stick our nose in Google first thing this morning to Wiki him since a meeting is unlikely in this lifetime.

What we found was that this dude was far from stupid he’d united the kingdoms of England, Danemark, Norway and even Scotland.

He was a convert to Christianity but a bigamist to boot.

Did he really have an ego the size of Donald Trumps or was he filed with fledgling faith that he could turn the tide or was he trying to show people that God was in charge?

For now we’re giving him the benefit of the doubt and are going with the theory that he humbled himself to make the point that while you may be a Great Emperor the big guy up above is Greater still!!

There is absolutely no doubt that Ma is a gal of exquisite taste! She chose me from a full pound didn’t she!!!

Now when it comes to dietary indulgences she can at times leave me perplexed!

Take yesterday morning. She fired this full bag full of veggie like materiel that Auntie Marsha gave her into the microwave and zinged it for three minutes until it disintegrated.

The smell of it was weird almost like vinegar but she said it made her so happy because it reminded her of her youth when her Mom cooked it and served it with custard.

She ate it with yogurt.

I looked on but decided not to beg it wasn’t my cup of tea I could tell.

Might cause a runny tummy.

Ma never misses a trick to post positivity about her tearoom.

Yesterday it was all about smelling the roses.

They’re doing especially well this year.

Great bunches are on display on the front desk and given her philosophy of USE IT OR LOOSE IT they are also invading our space at home.

Four years ago when she bought the building she even thought of calling it the Red Rose. That might have been a little less thought provoking than Booming Blessings!!

Precious Peeps it’s Pits Perfect here to get your loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong weekend off to a GREAT start.

Are you planning to grill burgers or hotdogs or both?

Personally I am not a huge fan of the grill because it’s unlikely that material of interest escapes its rim.

Now a bag of chips or nachos with some dips do it for me.

See they have the tendency to roll off the plate of certain persons especially if they consume beer or fizz!!

My absolute favorite is fiery cheese puffs that make your paws turn red.

There is no escaping over indulgence of these items.

They are like tattoos! Even after showering the secret cannot be kept.

That’s why I snuggle up to my Granny every night.

Happy memorial munching precious peeps!

We saw a big Doe in the yard last evening feasting on our honeysuckle. We reckon she is going to have her delivery very soon.

I’m keeping a close eye out for the arrival.

My theory is that the herd use our yard as the nursery because they know I’m very diligent in keeping predators at bay.

It would be great to see a birth but up till now the babies have all shown up during the nighttime hours.

I’m thinking this year could be a multiple birth. Suggestions on names are welcome!
