Ma is of a very philosophical nature.

When it pours all day she always says to me « fear not Scoob it’s a free car wash day »

It better be free because she’s making no money at the tearoom. Who’d go out in this?

As I’m part poodle my coat goes curly when it gets wet so currently I look like I’ve had a perm.

Ma says it’s like going to the groomers only less stressful.

I concur.

The niece has virtually no hair at all so she just gets soaked.

Mind you any sort of bath is good for her as she’s such a stinker.

The rain is back and the snow has gone.

It’s not nearly as bright and beautiful but it sure feels balmy to be above freezing.

Ma says she smells spring and it’s not just the temperature there are other signs

The Chinese New Year decor is up and we are planning for the year of the dragon which is the brothers sign.

Ma has also marked her calendar for the first rummage sale of the year.

Nothing like a good treasure hunt to shake off the winter cobwebs

Precious Peeps its Pits Perfect.

Yesterday Granny said we were all going to vegetate.

After a long walk to the park we bag an binge watching « HOMES UNDER THE HAMMER ».

This is a BBC production about people buying houses at auction and transforming them into beautiful homes.

Granny has illusions that we too could be flippers. The stinking Grey Gizz pretends he’s watching too and entices her fantasy!

This program is in part responsible for the hot water we got in that is now the tearoom.

Well as DIY shows go it’s not that boring but after watching for six hours I was comatose.

Please be with me in prayer that today she will not push continue!

Auntie Lorraine is a great knitter.

In addition to about six other layers Ma was wearing one of her most precious items of clothing yesterday, Lorraine’s hand knit socks.

They are made with very fine two ply wool.

Ironically as she’d just taken off her boots and put her feet up and we were admiring the socks who should text but Lorraine.

The gals had a back and forth chitty chat for a while and reached the conclusion that they miss discos and that warm feet are the key to survival in this cold.

This fact I believe is a key to evolution. See if apes got rid of their furry feet during the process of transforming into Homo Sapiens they must have been in a warm climate where sock were not needed.

Either that or they were fans of John Travolta

Frigid temperatures and enough snow for sledding did not deter the fun at the tearoom yesterday!

Murder was committed.

The victim none other than my brother.

Who did it?

The President or Mrs Harding?

The President Mistress Nan Britton who was also there or her flapper boutique owning friend Paula Pearl?

Edward McClean the editor of the Washington post or his wife Martha perhaps?

Or was it Sally Swing or Cookie Baker?

Ah see you cannot guess that’s why you need a Scooby Doo to reveal it was Miss Betsy Booth.

She’s the one in the fur looking innocently as an angel.

Ma caved in. She gave up waiting for the Bro to help her and decided that the Christmas tree had to come down since it had been up for nearly two months.

Yesterday was a good day to do it. There was a fresh few inches of snow on the ground so she was cheerful. We had a lovely long walk with Auntie Denise and were all feeling happy.

She gets depressed when she has to pack aways her lights and decor so it’s best to do it when it’s bright and the sun is shining.

The niece and me did our best to love and support her.

It went surprisingly smoothly and she’s finished by 10:30.

We kept the outside lights as it was too cold to take them down so she still has those to warm her heart.

As you must know by now Thursday is trash day.

So as always Ma and me were up and at it early yesterday morning taking first the recycling to the kerb.

We generate a lot of this so there are two bins.

Ma let go of my leash as our hill is slippy with ice and snow and that’s when I had a brain wave.

If she wasn’t going to do a decent walk again today I’d get my exercise in early. So I took off.

It was pitch dark. I knew she’d never see me.

All I could hear was « Scooby you get back here this minute»

I had a lovely little five minutes all to myself until my tootsies got too cold and I had to return to the ranch.

She was not best pleased.

Said she’d trade me in for a new model if I ever did that again.

It was such fun. I felt so rejuvenated!

Precious Peeps it’s Pits Perfect here again.

My heart is filled with regret at my words of yesterday. I discovered after hitting the Pits Publish that the dear old Princess of Wales is in the hospital.

Don’t tell her the truth.

Just pretend she is prettier than me.

It might help her get better sooner.

In the meantime I will continue to polish my Pits Perfect Pearlies on my Nylas to ensure there is no debate as to whose are best!!

You can see the extent of the Nyla rigor from this demonstration of what can be achieved! While the mighty bones are virtually unchanged Granny has finished both sides of her sweater.

Indicatif of course of the durability of the product and or the state of Granny’s nerves.

Precious Peeps it’s your very own Princess Perfect here to cheer you on on a cold day.

My heart was warmed by the elevation of the beautiful Princess Mary of Denmark to the position of Queen.

Now there is no competition I am the most PERFECT PRINCESS in the whole wide world.

Wait I hear you say there is Kate.

She’s not bad looking I admit but she isn’t in the same league as me.

Some « Pretenders » post on Facebook of their status but trust me anyone can pay for regal service but only those that are régnants in waiting spontaneously receive it!!!!

Rightly so! All bow now!!!

We all have our peculiarities when it comes to eating.

I do my best to avoid eating kibble unless it is dressed with Dads delights.

Ma is a tough old bird though and she will only give me kibble in the morning. Sometimes I have to eat it especially if it’s cold out as you need your calories to be burning!

She does condescend by serving it by the TV.

I am still very picky.

I pick out pieces I don’t care for and scatter them around the carpet.

When Dad gets up and sees it he is apoplectic.

The niece as you know will eat anything at anytime.

You know the old saying I’ll Eat My Hat!

Well this is the living breathing embodiment of that perspective.
