I’m late on the Banter today as my PA was otherwise occupied with revisions to her schedule for the weekend.

After our morning trot she called one of her teammates this morning with a question and thank goodness she did.

They walked through the 29 page schedule one item at a time.

Thursday was good!

Friday had one or two tweaks but man had Ma messed up on Saturday. She forgot all about the general distribution of cookies to all 2600 inmates at the prison that take two hours.

Oops.

They were on the phone for two hours. Even the PIT was paralyzed my the length of the conversation.

In the end though they got it done.

Blessing#1856-A Friend Indeed

It was a horrible day for me yesterday. Ma got us up at 5:30 as she had the last of her team formation meetings for Kairos this one being in the prison.

She said it was a dress rehearsal for the weekend that I should prepare myself!

She took me out for a pee before she left but it was pitch black and pouring into the bargain.

The bro was left in charge of the niece and me but he only walks us a few inches which is insufficient to mobilize my intestines. He only cares about his child and she poops as soon as she is out the door.

Consequently I had to hold on until Ma returned at 4:30. Agony!!

Ma said I better get used to it because it will be worse when the weekend starts and she won’t be home till 9:00!

Maybe I’ll have to take a little extra fiber to get things moving faster or maybe I’ll go on hunger strike. A little prayer and fasting is good for the soul they say!

Blessing #1855-Solidarity

Auntie Denise is back so she’s helping us capture some morning adventures.

When we meet her the sun is just coming up.

It was quite spectacular last morning. Here’s her pic!

Just as well there was light in the sky when you see the critter that spooked us out in a neighbors yard.

The niece wanted to get it. Stupid child!!!!

As you can see it’s probably four times the size of Ma.

My feeling was to hold back just in case it happened to have a go at us. With all this talk of Aliens you have to be sure it’s not an invasion!

The competition for the scariest spectacle is not yet over, there is always the « anything you can do I can do better » vibe around here but this will be hard to beat in terms of stature.

Blessing#1854-Howling horror

Ma is always on the look out for little signs from above especially when she is under pressure!

The butterfly bushes at the tearooms are still blooming and bring her joy.

It’s especially cool when there is a butterfly on them but she got such a cool surprise when one was hovering around her sign.

In a few seconds it moved towards the door handle while she watched.

You couldn’t make it up.

Thankfully it was a poser so stuck around long enough for her to get its picture.

Blessing#1853-Welcome Guest.

Precious Peeps it’s Pits Perfect and I’m totally exhausted.

Dad captured my condition perfectly last evening in my favorite place of repose underneath his bed.

This time of year there are so many deer around it clean wears me out chasing them.

When I come home I’m all fired up so I chase the Grey Gizz too. He’s not nearly as fun but I love winding him up!

By the time evening comes and dinner is digesting I give up the ghost and collapse.

The ugliness thinks I’ve past on so he administers mouth to mouth. That stirs me to make the trek to the second floor for peace in my own chambers.

Nothing like a good sleep to keep me looking like the Princess I am!

Blessing#1852-Down Time

There is theory and then there is reality.

In theory you should get treats if you are good.

Sometimes though you get them to shut you up.

That is until the giver of good things gets completely bummed with your bad behavior and vacates the room.

If that happens it’s a fate worse than death because you are stuck watching CNN again.

So take my advice; shut you trap!

Blessing#1851-Smart Behavior

Of a morning around 6:00AM Ma sneaks out of bed to get her phone before coming back beside me to do some quiet catch up on Facebook and emails.

It’s at this time she says hello to Venus the “Morning Star”. Today the moon was in the picture too.

There is something very reassuring about the position of the planets. Kind of sets you up for the day knowing that they are still where they should be.

I snooze while she does her check on the world and then when the sunrises we shake ourselves and get up to get the coffee.

By this time the picture in the window has changed but we know behind the pinks and blues there is still our neighbor hanging in there in our Solar System. We are all set!!!

Blessing#1850-Heavenly Bodies

On Sunday we always listen to Dana Bash on CNN she’s one of our favorites. Always so smart and polite and balanced in her opinions.

Of course she was covering the horrible war in Israel.

Much of the reporting came from a city called Sderot that Mom had been to for work. Nestle has a big operation there making snacks, culinary products and breakfast cereals.

When you see a place you know it hits home. Ma of course thought of her friends.

It must have been really tough for Dana to present all this news because she is Jewish. She handled it all so well and ended with a prayer she said is used at every funeral.

We’d never heard this before but thought it speaks volumes and was worth sharing.

To avoid Ma having a total meltdown Dad has stepped forward to help her with Kairos.

She has collected hundreds of sign ups for the big prayer chain that is wrapped around the room during the weekend at the prison.

She’s meant to transpose these names to strips of paper that are then interlocked to make the chain.

This is not a task for persons lacking patience like Ma.

Dad is doing it with my help. I’m keeping trouble at bay.

Isn’t he a good soul!!
