The current incumbent of my future position was in Mom’s hometown, Belfast, yesterday.

He flew in with his entourage on Air Force One.

It’s a huge jumbo jet and since I won’t need nearly as large a security squad, as I can snarl myself safe, I plan to scale back on my aircraft.

You have really got to walk the talk when it comes to environmental impact so following negotiations I expect to see a few trees planted in the Emerald Isle over the next few days.

It’s a pity I haven’t been there yet but my time will come. I’d be delighted to stay in a country kennel but downtown sure looks swell and I sense Ma might enjoy a little luxury.

I have the look down pat and I’ll be sure to give those trees a fine fertilizing treatment because I know in Ireland they won’t need much watering.

As Oscar said you gotta let things mature and evolve.

Brace yourself for this I have become an international celebrity.

Ma didn’t stop at posting our pics on Facebook for World Pet Day yesterday she also sent my snap to U105, her favorite Ulster radio station, when she got stuck in a traffic jam on the way to work.

DJ Carolyn Stewart mentioned me.

Said I was gorgeous! Absolutely spot on!!!

Wonder what she’d have thought of Memorial and her Mom who were grazing in our yard yesterday when we got up.

See our pets are not just your average domestic dudes we got dear deer too.

Yesterday after a luxurious unplanned lie in we had a very productive morning. Bank, shopping, cooking chili, baking scones and after a little lunch we adjourned for a siesta.

While we were sleeping our water provider called to ask if we had a leak or left a tap on or if any of our toilets were running as our water consumption had increased.

Dad checked everywhere and all seemed OK but then he went to the boiler room and you guessed it we had a drip drip dripping. It had soaked a whole pile of boxes and there was a puddle like a pond on the floor.

Panic! Call the plumber. The call was placed at 3:15 and the receptionist said that most likely it would be after 4:30 when they’d be able to get there so it would be the emergency rate. No problem Ma said send them please.

Guess what though Jerry arrived at 4:15, fixed the pipe that had an age related pinhole leak, and since he was here anyway did a little repair to a toilet that had a cistern problem all within the hour.

Now that’s what you call great service and just think if our water company hadn’t called the issues we might have had.

Hope you all enjoyed your Easter. Mine was torture to begin with.

The hateful hound that resides in the same kennel as my bro tried to strangle me.

See Ma tried to get us looking pretty for our holiday pictures so she put on my Top Knots scarf and the “thing” pounced.

Went straight for my neck. She then ripped the bonnet Ma was attempting to put on her head straight out of Ma’s hand and tore off with it under the table.

Granny scolded her but what does the bro do? Sweeps her up and says “poor baby”

Worse yet Ma then proceeds to remove the scarf from around my neck puts it on the thing and says “it’s too girlish for you anyway Scoob”

I got two of Libby Grace’s big biscuits though when the parents went to church so I suppose that’s some compensation. Oh and best of all the beast and the bro adjourned for a snooze!

Precious Peeps it’s Pits at Pâques.

I so love all this bunny business. Especially chasing those cute critters.

I do declare that their most attractive asset is their tail. Mine is without doubt my nose.

Although once you get up close and personal you will doubtless agree my eyes are exceptionally endearing too. Toffee anyone?

The Gizz, as you know is a real egg head but he is gifted with a glorious tongue that he uses to give me a good grooming. That’s why my hair always looks so glossy.

You just always gotta look your best. Especially on high days and holidays. Although of course I need very little work to be absolutely fabulous.

Fear not! I will resist going all Norman on you! There may well be a battle with the “enemy” but by Will I Am The Conqueror.

Hope you laughed, it took a lot of brain power for that single statement. Nothing lost it has some campaign potential!

Enough of that ancient history dear reader it is not the subject of my mind today instead I am reflecting on coincidences in color.

Sunsets are spectacular these days be it at our place or down on the farm in the countryside where Auntie Marsha lives.

The evening is so intense. You can’t imagine it would all disappear and then it does.

It’s back though in the morning sure as you could say “let them be light!”

When it turns out that your TV just happens to join in the theme it makes you feel someone is coordinating the show!

Oh and then you see the post from home base in Ballylesson and you get it!

It’s no time since I was a pup yet there are days when I feel ancient like Ma.

Time sure slips by quickly. If I could find a way to slow down the aging process I’d win the election hands down.

Just yesterday the oldest ever Lemur passed on. It was forty years old. In human years that would be about 120! So Ma is half way there!!!

I think it looks so cute. Kinda like a Koala.

Have you noticed they both have the same coloring as me.

Simply picture perfect.

Less than a month now till Ma and the bro head to London for the coronation.

They are still waiting for their official invitations but seems they only went out on Tuesday so Ma says there is still hope.

I would not count on it. Better take a rain coat as there is no doubt the pair of them will be standing cheering in the streets.

Do you think H&M will make it?

I’m convinced I’d cause less of a stir than them.

Pity I have to stay home and take care of Dad. I’d have looked fab in the royal regalia!

Brave Heart beware!

As promised, today I’m giving you an update on yesterday’s BAPS!

First, to put this in context for you who may be uninitiated, these are as fundamental a part of Belfast culture as the Titanic.

Toddlers are given big pieces of their crust to chew on. No teething rings needed. Thereafter the taste is enhanced with thick coatings of butter and bingo you are hooked for life.

So when Ma saw that recipe her hankering for home hit high gear.

The dough rose like a charm.

We googled what it meant to “knock it back” and it rose again!

We then slipped the beauties into a hot oven and baked them with a tray of water in the bottom to make steam.

They crusted up to become like long range missiles. To you who have not seen one before they may look burned but fear not.

Inside they were soft and yummy

Ma is always checking out ideas for the tearoom.

These include ways to save money. Yesterday her hunch was confirmed dollar tree is the best bargain spot for cupcake papers. Every cent counts.

She also looks at every website known to man for inspiring and cute baking ideas. Some she accepts are beyond her skill set.

Nothing goes to waste though.

She puts the links on the Facebook page with the hope some customers will share.

That grows opportunities.

Today we are back to basics trying to make a Belfast Bap.

Tomorrow I’ll show you how that goes
