Wagging Tail-1763

I am completely exhausted by all the comings and goings.

We left home yesterday at 9:45 and were driving here there and everywhere till 2:00pm.

It’s all well and good going on car rides but being locked up with the niece for that amount of time would drive a saint insane.

I am glad Ma and Dad have Tuesday morning group today as it will give me at least a little peace to chill and catch up on my much needed rest.

I don’t know why humans feel the need to keep chasing after pipe dreams.

All they really need to do is sleep and see what lovely stories spontaneously surface!!

They never involve Pitties!!!

Today’s the day when we officially become proud owners of our new home.

Of course the place is to put it mildly “is in need of work”.

I don’t anticipate romping around the yard any time too soon but you know Ma she’s like a dog with a bone.

She has the painter all sorted and on Thursday has taken a day off at the tearoom to meet every other tradesman under the sun.

I know that eventually it will all be worth it but Ma is like a wound up spring. I’m just concerned she’ll snap like that fence at the ranch that is number one in the list of must do’s.

Ma was not concentrating yesterday when she pumped her gas and didn’t realize the system was set to super premium rather than cheapest of cheap lead free.

Alas this means she spent five dollars more than she needed to which drove her apoplectic with rage.

You know how she is on the penny pinching.

She was about to go and ask for a refund and then gave that second thoughts as it was her own negligence.

Now she is hopeful that Aretha will overnight turn into some sort of luxury vehicle along the lines of Cinderella.

I doubt it but you can be sure until she’s running on empty again Ma will be paying close attention to the miles she gets per gallon!!

Ma is driving me stir crazy.

She was up at 5:00 am these past few days googling such eclectic subjects as sanitation services, dumpster rental, countertops and of course the ubiquitous daffodil paint.

When she went out and pulled her first bunch of the year from the yard I thought I might pack up and leave.

We were then all subjected to a PhD thesis on the different yellows that even a small bouquet of her favs can yield.

MERCY!

I keep telling her all she needs to do is match up with BIG BIRD and she’ll be just fine.

I may have to endure this for the foreseeable future so please keep me in your prayers.

Life is never easy living with a nutter.

Precious Peeps it’s PITS here to propel you into a wonderful weekend.

We are all set for soaring temperatures but maybe a little rain too.

As long as the boom booms stay away I’ll be just fine.

I’m so looking forward to sun bathing soon.

It’s one of my very favorite pastimes.

I’m afraid I made a mess of our patio furniture cushions with my long nails but Granny has resourceful source new ones from a dumpster dive.

I love my Granny’s impressive intelligence and initiative in solving such problems.

Girls rule.

Be like me and Granny!!!

When Auntie Phyllis passed over the rainbow bridge Ma took it upon herself to contact some of PCs friends and share the sad news with them.

This reacquainted Ma with some close mutual friends they shared back in the days they spent together in Switzerland.

It also allowed Ma to meet, albeit virtually, Miss Pamela who lives in Carolina and was Phyllis’s best friend for many many years.

The two have hit it off and are keeping in touch and so it was a great surprise yesterday when Ma received this beautiful gift from Pamela along with a lovely card.

This little silver tree has a jeweled cardinal in it and the message “Forever in our Hearts” engraved on it.

Here many people believe when you see one of these sweet little birds that a loved one is saying hello from heaven.

Ma has hung it on her rear view mirror so she will see it every day.

It is so precious and so touching.

Precious Peeps PITS PERFECT here to help you over the humpty.

Yesterday for a split second I feared extradition.

See Granny and the Gizz and me were trotting around the big loop in the sunshine when a white car came past.

As is his habit the Gizz lunged at it and just as Granny was corralling him in I decided to cross in front of them for a nibble on the new grass.

It was a bit like the Grand National.

Granny took off over me like I was a hurdle and landed flat on her face.

Here’s how I redeemed myself.

I stood perfectly still and looked at her as she made her way from horizontal to vertical.

Apart from uttering a few obscenities and having a bloody knee she was unharmed which is just as well as we were a mile and a half from home.

Here’s the best bit though she told Grandpa the incident was all the Gizzards fault and that I was a good girl and didn’t bolt when she dropped my leash.

I hope this little tale helps you with your humpty. Just remember that you sometimes get over things easier than you might imagine.

We slept in.

Didn’t stir till 7:15.

Ma blames it on the clock springing forward she says she naturally wakes at dawn.

I put it down to her age.

Her brain needs more downtime to process and file all new data and dog gone it she has squired a lot of that in by the past days.

She is clean worn out with all her planning.

We have switched our reading material from books to brochures.

Ma went to the Home Depot on her way home on Saturday and a small truck was needed to bring back all the bumph she found.

I am now familiar with every hue of white.

Daffodil yellow for the front door is proving to be a challenge. Ma is trying to find the exactly right tone that has been dragged from the depths of her dreams.

We are meeting our favorite painter friend Ted at THE RANCH at noon.

I trust he has the patience of Job because Ma is destined to drive him nuts.

The whole family is going as the Bro is off work today and Auntie Marsha and Uncle Jim are coming along to view.

I am secretly excited at the prospect of many trips north. Don’t tell Ma though if she thinks I’m grumpy she’s more generous with the goodies!!!
