Last week Dad’s batch of yogurt didn’t set right. It was a bit runny.

Yesterday Ma had a lot of baking to do for the tearoom so since the oven was on she decided to make “good old Irish wheaten bread” using the runny yogurt instead of butter milk.

She doesn’t measure when she’s making bread she eyeballs it but when she was tipping the yogurt in it plopped out all at once leaving her with no option but to add more flour.

She ended up making way more than planned.

Sometimes I wonder why she doesn’t just do things slowly in a more methodical rather than like a crazed critter on speed.

Anyway the outcome is that we’ll know what’s for brekkie for days to come and it’s not that bad at all.
