The weather this morning says it “feels like” minus two Celsius but fear not Ma is apoplectic with excitement because the pool is open.
It may be a tad green but never fear it is “on shock”. Even overnight it has taken on a clearer bluer hew.
We will be ready to take the plunge in a day or two.
Most other people with a titter of wit open their pools end of May but not the Irish.
Ma says if you can swim in the Atlantic you can stick your toes in water that is just warmer than ice.
Like good scouts we live by the moto “Be Prepared” and so we will be for the first balmy day.
