We’re late on the Banter because we were up half the night with the footie.
The England Norway game was exciting and to make it atmospheric we had fish and chips and Ma drank beer.
As you’ll know by now England managed to pull off a winner in extra time. So on Wednesday we may anticipate more screaming. In the meantime we must raise our glasses to the kingdom of Norway for their great patriotic performance spurred along by the presence of their Crown Prince.
By the way that is a hint to Prince William that he needs to book a ticket for the mid week match!!!
On then to Switzerland and Argentina. Oh my Ma was eating her fingers and closing her eyes and praying but in what seemed like the very last minutes before a penalty shoot off Argentina did the deed. What an effort by the Swiss.
Remarkable that both Norway and Switzerland have populations of only seven million that less than the size of Chicago or New York so you have to give it to them they are exceptional soccer peoples!!!
