Wagging Tail-2252

As we were surfing through our social this morning we happened on a reel about milk delivery in the UK back when Ma was young.

She said she remembers the little electric milk van making its rounds around the streets where she grew up each morning.

She has another reason that it’s imbedded in her brain and that’s the smell of it.

See her school friend Emma’s Dad was a milk man and when he was doing his rounds he’d drop Emma at school.

Well it would seem that when it was raining he’d stop if he saw my Granny walking my Mum to school and give them a lift.

A very kind thing to do and much appreciated by my Mums Mum.

My Mum says though that she would dread having to get in as she can still remember there was a very distinct odor of spilt milk going sour permeating that little cabin!

She was only a little girl at the time and would beg her Mum not to get in but of course it seemed better than getting soaked.

Ma says she can still hear the bottles clinking and almost taste the entire experience.

She’s never ever been a big milk fan! Now I know why.
