Precious Peeps Pits Perfect here to see you safely into the weekend.
In addition to being magnificent and all those things I talked to you about last week today I’m underlining that we also need to be smart!
With storms around always listen to the TV and when they say go to your safe spot just do it.
Mine is the restroom without windows that Granny uses most often.
I’m very familiar with this territory as I follow her there whenever she goes.
It’s sometimes a tight squeeze as you know who also joins in.
I know it may not be the most luxurious of domains but it’s got the rose soap smell among other aromas and that makes me chill.
Fortunately you know who does not seek safety he prefers to bark at storms like the stupid scruffy he is.
So dear ones please take the time to find a comfortable spot for your next tornado, take care when you hear the thunder roar and look out for flying fur balls!
Ma is addicted to YouTube TV particularly the Royal Channel.
She avidly absorbs absolutely all it has to offer from the history of ancient castles to daily updates on the current goings on!
This week it’s been mostly about the visit of the Emperor and Empress of Japan.
We had to watch the entire Royal banquet baloney. This included the speeches! The King first told the Emperor how wonderful he was and then the Emperor reciprocated by telling the King he was ace too.
Must say I was full of admiration for the Emperor’s English. I know the dude studied at Oxford so he ain’t stupid but I’m glad he didn’t expect the King to speak Japanese or it may have been a short speech.
I’d also like to commend the dear Duchess of Edinburgh for whom I have a particular soft spot. She was ravishing in her green dress and I’ve never seen her wear as many diamonds.
She really did a stellar job standing in for the PoW making small talk with the Emperor and listening attentively to his speech.
Way to go Sophie. Glad to see you right up there with all their Majesties.
Ma has always loved history and is part of the history chapter of the Marion Women’s Club.
Some of the gals took a little road trips yesterday to visit their pal and archivist Keily at Brownella Cottage in Galion Ohio.
This is far from your average persons perception of a cottage. Rather, it is a mini mansion filled with original furnishings from the late 1800s.
The cottage was built for Rev William Brown and his bride Ella as a wedding gift by Ella’s adoptive mother Mary when Willy was assigned to be the episcopal minister for Grace Church just across the road.
Willy went on to become a bishop in Arkansas but was subsequently struck off as he took to peculiar ways of thinking including strong leanings towards Lenin and the like!
Their story is fascinating and worth a Google but is far too long to tell in my banter.
It’s kinda spooky though as the cottage is said to be haunted.
Now would this not be a perfect place for someone with the name Scooby to visit too.
Alas I was left home with Dad which is always a history lesson in itself.
We have AC thankfully but it’s never as cold upstairs as it is down in the living room.
A simple matter of physics you might say. Heat rises.
Wouldn’t you therefore think that some smart engineer might have thought to put the thermostat where the house is hottest?
Maybe we’d be all freezing during the day though.
Still this soup we are currently boiling in is not at all conducive to a good sleep.
In addition to her standard mid slumber trip to the potty Ma is now sweating like the proverbial piggy and tossing and turning and keeping me from my slumbers.
While I’m not that keen on storms I am dedicating my Sunday devotional to a petition to the Lord that he sends one soon!
I thought I might puke yesterday when we came home from our morning trot. It was so stinking hot but that was not the reason.
The niece drank a full bowl of water and then immediately proceeded to throw it up along with her copious breakfast and the half bale of grass she’d eaten on route.
Of course I had not eaten either brekkie or grass as I know that it is not conducive to exercise in hot weather.
Ma decided to let the niece clean things up herself which she dutifully did. Eats anything anytime that dog. She just left the grass.
We then had iced lollipops as we all needed to cool off both bodies and tempers.
Precious Peeps Pits Perfect here to get your weekend off to a wonderful start.
POSITIVITY is what I’m going to preach!
It is in my nature to always think well of myself and I encourage you to do likewise.
My original plan was to retain this piece of philosophy for “Thought for the Week” until I got thinking that some sad old fart like Granny might be out there and need it now.
So it’s Friday and you have no plans except fizz and My Lottery Dream Home. Do not fret.
Even if you are wrinkled like a silk shirt that got mixed with the towels in the tumbler you are still MAGNIFICENT!
Think like me dear dog eared devotee each day of the week! You are ADORABLE.
Trust me. Just walk around today thinking I’m Magnificent and come time for tomorrow you’ll already be half way to believing your INCREDIBLE.
Not a single one of you can possibly have any harder life than me. You don’t have to live with a stinking grumpy grey mongrel do you. Yet here I am on top of the world and PERFECT!
