WOW the closing ceremony did not disappoint. So beautiful!

Ma says she won’t forget these games for a moment what with all the action she saw and Ireland placing in the top twenty and of course all those beautiful familiar spots in Paris!

Some people get to go in person others watch from home or, as was her case, hospital. Brings everyone together!

Like lots of ladies she kinda got the hots for that French swimmer Leon Marchand.

Ma says he’s a honey and will be President of France one day. She was thrilled he got the big roll at the closing. Looked almost regal!

Regardless it’s all good sport and we are most grateful that Dads flame is going strong unlike the big balloon that Leon snuffed out.

That oxygen is great! A winner Tom Cruise definitely is on it.

Looking forward to 2028 and LA for the USA

Precious Peeps it’s with Passionate Pitty Pleasure that I report to you my dear readers that I am no longer a down dog!

Grandpa has been discharged and is safely retuned to his usual spot on the sofa.

I am going to focus on gentle stretching exercises for the moment though to allow him some time to settle.

Chasing Scooby around the house will be reinstated once Grandpa is back to screaming at me and detached from the oxygen tube.

For the moment he is just so happy to see me that he has not yet said a single cross word. Imagine that!!!

My sun salutations no doubt have a calming impact on his condition.

Namaste nutters!!

The silver lining to Dad being laid up is that Ma gets to watch the Olympics live from his hospital room rather than be at work.

She says she feels sorry for the person in the room below because her little feet were running for Ireland yesterday morning.

The 4x400m relay heats were epic and the Irish girls got through to the final. A first for country.

Overall team Ireland is currently in 16th place in the medals table which per capita of population must place them close to the top.

It’s all just so exciting and of course I had to watch it all again in the evening.

Precious Peeps it’s Pits Perfect here.

Usually I’m very chipper of a Friday but I’m feeling depressed as Grandpa is not here.

Even though he yells at me when I step on his tootsies or when I play chase or try to chew up shoes or socks he is very generous with the cookies.

Every morning when we come back from our trot he gives me and Grumpy custard creams.

I miss them and I also miss his snuggles as he is my favorite pillow of an evening when we watch TV

I understand he has to stay in hospital till they get to the bottom of his blip on the high road of life but I frankly feel lost without him.

Grumpy is no help because he’s even more upset than me. Just moping around like a big ugly turnip.

We found out yesterday when all the blood results came in that Grandpa has a viral infection not pneumonia as originally suspected. His cardiologist has inspected all his test reports and has proclaimed that his ticker is doing well.

Will y’all please petition the big guy upstairs to get Grandpa released soon.

Thanks!

While the stock market crumbles shares in Milk Bones are soaring.

Ma has been in and out of the house like a yo-yo going to see Dad and as you know each time she exits Milkies are administered.

Now much as I love them I love Dad more and I miss him. Being home alone is no fun.

Good news is he’s making good progress.

He’s got a good appetite and scoffed some brownies from the Bro for breakfast and is bright as a button.

With all the good wishes and especially the fun balloons and snacks from Auntie Lori I’m sure he will Get Well Soon!!

Precious Peeps it’s a Pathetic Poor Pity here on hump day. It is not happy!

I am stressed out.

Yesterday Granny nearly killed me walking in the heat and then when we came home she went crazy like a tornado stripping beds and doing the laundry and preparing food for the evening meal all because she was going to the pool to play with Auntie Lori.

At midday I was confined to my chamber to “rest” till she came back and the Gizz was left with Grandpa.

While she was away I don’t know what the Gizz did but Grandpa started feeling funny. His little heart was racing.

So when Granny returned at 4:00 pm he told her he wasn’t feeling so good so she hooked him up to his oxygen but still his little ticker was tocking way too fast so Granny called the squad.

They arrived in five minutes and whizzed him off to the hospital.

Problem was Granny went with him.

So there I was starving and thirsty and dying for a pee and still confined to my quarters!!!

My Dad was miles away for work and eventually went and got Granny and they came home at 10:00 PM.

The Doctors did all sorts of blood test and x-rays and such and found Grandpa had pneumonia so they started him on a drip with the famous Fleming formulation.

This morning he is much brighter and his ticker is now tocking at 83 and we are hoping he’ll be home soon.

Scooby will provide updates as I’m exhausted and have once more been confined to “rest

You know that Miilk Bone is a frequently eaten enabler in our establishment.

We get one for being good when Ma and Pa go out and when we go to bed at night.

So last evening when Ma pulled a piece from its box last to give the niece on her way to the land of nod she started to giggle.

Look she said Nala has a Funny Bone.

Now I must say it looked like a treat to me a tad bent perhaps but Ma said it had a funny twist like an elbow.

So of course when we got the niece tucked in we had to find the origin of funny bone.

Well for once it’s not Shakespeare.

Just a quaint little play on words humorous HUMERUS!

Ma was saying last night that she wished her Dad was still around so he could enjoy a Barr’s whiskey.

His preferred tipple was Bells and he always had to have it in a “fine” glass.

Of course his namesake Barr’s wasn’t around then but it is a very mellow blend that Ma discovered at the bargain basement price of $30 for 1.75 litres.

My Dad loves it and has one “medicinal” serving each evening.

We have now accumulated, over the course of the past year I hasten to say, several empty bottles that Ma is keeping for Christmas.

She plans to use them for nonalcoholic beverages at the tearoom and maybe the odd punch for our parties at home.

If that doesn’t work we’ll have flowers in them instead!

Grandpa could no doubt have helped her empty a few more.

Alas he’s only able to cheer us on with Bells from above but we still celebrate good thoughts of him!

You know about me and bikes.

They make me mad.

Ma knows this well but what did she subject me to yesterday morning for two hours? The Olympic cycling road race and peloton.

Now part of the interest was that Ireland was holding second place in the leading group but that was not all.

The race took place in the area where our family lived when Ma was based in Paris. The county of Les Yvelines.

Specifically they lived in a village called Noisy Le Roi and Ma kept oohing and ahhing and look look looking to Dad about all the places the race was passing through that they knew.

She was so emotional that she had to text auntie Laura who lived there too to get her to watch the course.

They agreed that they could almost smell the bread and cheese and all the flowers at the Saturday street markets!

Precious Peeps I’m a day late in wishing you a wonderful weekend but I was severely traumatized yesterday.

It stormed for hours on Thursday night over Friday morning. We got two and a half inches of rain!

That’s not the problem though. The lightening nearly did me in.

There is only so much a small Pitty can take.

When it did pass it left consequences.

The internet and phone and cable TV all went down and it took a few hours to fix them. Fortunately the electric stayed on!

You know though that I’m always positive and philosophical about Pitty Problems so there was good news.

The internet came back up first and so Granny being desperate for Olympic medal news went surfing.

She found that not only can we access BBC World on the internet stream we can also get SKY News!

She had to leave for work before she could explore further but heaven does help us even when lightning strikes there are fringe benefits.
