Wagging Tail-504

My Dad is home and I am so glad although he hasn’t done much snacking yet.

Must say I’ve been impressed by the tikes tenderness. Despite her youth she has taken on the role of chief nurse! Think I’ll nickname her Florence! Very empathetic that little face!

She is keeping Dad’s back warm.

My role is to guard and supervise the administration of medication that has been provided in abundance.

All our TLC is working well.

Dad looks much better already.

No matter how much I’ve stared out the window my Dad still hasn’t come home.

In his absence I have been forced to eat regular dog food with no additions. Ma is so mean.

Even the tike sits now and watches me eat that’s how boring my food has become.

I sure hope that the balloons my Auntie Lori sent Dad work fast.

I have my eye on that red teddy that’s holding them.

It is only fair that I get some compensation for all I’ve been through or I’ll huff for ever!

I’m in the deepest of dog houses. It’s like a pit!

I got a bit over excited this morning and got entangled with the coffee pot cord.

The pot fell and broke and we had glass and coffee and grounds everywhere.

Ma was furious. Fortunately she’d had two cups or I might have been exterminated.

To make matters worse it was pouring outside but Ma insisted we had to go out to do our business so we all got soaked to the skin

The tike was shaking she was so wet. She’s not equipped with a coat like mine. We have both been well washed that’s for sure.

The bro pretended to be sound asleep. He is smart at times. I may need to take a page out of his book.

The good news on this smashing soggy day is that Dads colonoscopy shows no cancer!

It’s easy to win a battle when your opponent is in a weakened position.

Such was the case in this mornings battle of the piggy.

I was victorious for the simple reason the tike is toothless.

Her baby front choppers have fallen and the big ones are not fully in yet so she has to fight sideways.

Its been a toothy time all around today as Ma has to get a filling. She loves her dentist though so its not at all troublesome.

I know my time as conqueror over the toothless wonder is limited. Speaking of which Dad is having a colonoscopy as we speak perhaps the ugliest of all battles to fight but he has won the most important for now his white blood cell count is back to normal!

Ma says that in Ireland you’d class the current condition of my Dad as «on the mend ».

He’s eating well and has a good appetite and all his vitals are improving.

Hercule Poirot may need to be called in to determine the root cause of his issues but through a process of elimination (could not resist this one) the gastrointestinal track is currently the key suspect.

Unlike Dad I’m now off my food because of all the strange comings and goings.

I feel all the responsibility of guarding the house and keeping the tike under control has been placed on my shoulders. She is hard work!

What a beast! No one would believe from her sweet smile that she is such a terrorist.

Isn’t it often the case that the least likely is the guilty party!

I was unable to communicate with you yesterday as my secretary was otherwise occupied.

My Dad got sick and had to go to hospital at 2:00 am. Ma went with him and left me with the bro and his kid.

He gave us a few short trots for the necessary business and later he took the tike to stay at her Granny’s and left me home alone.

He brought Ma home really late when it was dark so I got no walk with her all day! So I paid her back this morning by slipping my leash and chasing a BMW for half a mile.

The driver was raging and herself was fierce angry with me. She also ate the face of the bro. Told him our house stinks of dog pee and that she wants it spotless when she gets back tonight from seeing Dad.

Poor soul has had a gazillion test and is getting loads of injections but is much better today than he was yesterday.

I’m glad because he is good company for me and my major treat provider. I hope he is back home soon

I’m learning some things from the tike even though I’m definitely older and wiser.

After our walk this morning we played tug of war again.

This time I won.

At first I was thrilled that the jaw of steel had surrendered so I teased her mercilessly.

It was no fun though when she didn’t respond.

Even when I left her she just sat there looking dejected.

I felt so guilty it just was no fun.

Eventually she played again and this time I let her win.

Life really is all about give and take.

You have all heard of the battle my Ma wages against the deer.

Well each time this year that they pull up her sedum for dessert she took the remains and rooted them as revenge.

Now our back porch is inundated with seedling plants that have taken off like crazy and smothered most everything else in their pot.

She is gloating because she thinks she has out witted the hoofed critters but let me tell you they will have the last laugh yet.

That sedum may be ”such a pretty pink” but it brings bees and we are all set to get stung!

Ma and me nearly fainted this morning when we got up at our usual time.

It was pitch black outside but the door to the bro and niece’s bedroom was open and they were out for a trot.

Seems after all the cleaning up from yesterday he’d got her out as soon as she squeaked.

He went back to sleep leaving her with me and we got to play fighting.

Ma was mad as can be and told us to settle down or we would get no brekkie.

We hung out under the table for a while but thats boring if no crumbs fall.

So we stared her out until she caved in and gave us our nosh.
