I’m down in the dumps. My tummy was playing tricks again this morning so Ma has declared war on any food other than ADULT DOG DRY DOG FOOD.
Not a grain of puppy food or treats are to pass my lips. Dad has been suitably warned.
Add to this that I’m being left all alone as Ma and Pa are going out to a big neighborhood party called an Octoberfest where people drink home brewed beer and eat sausages.
It’s hardly fair.
There is nothing for it but sleep and dream of large amounts of meat and chews.
When Ma and I got up this morning the bro had disappeared with my niece. Not a word to say where they’d gone. Road trip no doubt with his girlfriend and Nala’s sister Simba! who calls a girl Simba I ask you!!!
Ma says I’m more reasonable than the bro is!! At least I annonce arrivals and departures.
It was like super cool for me on National Dogs Day because I got MY MA all to myself and we went for a super long walk with Denise.
We hadn’t been able to do that in a long time because of heat and HER!
They’ve taken all my toys away which is hardly fair.
What does one puppy need with all MY TOYS
I’m now bored so am starring out the window looking for them to return.
Ma had a total meltdown last night about eight o’clock.
I’d had the runs all day and she was picking up poop constantly. At least I did it outside. I was very thankful.
Add to this the tike was tearing up book covers and shredding papers like a machine.
She was chilling with wine and had just had some ice-cream also as a reward for her patience when all hell broke loose.
She went to put her dirty glass in the dishwasher only to discover the top rack was off it’s rails and that three of the four roller guides were broken to shreds
She tried for an hour to fix it to no avail. By this time I was desperate to get out again.
She was huffing and puffing and swearing and banging and saying all sorts of unmentionable things about the STUPID men she lives with and how SHE has to do everything herself and so on.
She calmed down this morning. Sleep always helps but then discovered that during her rant I’d had made use of the fancy sitting room for my urgency.
She was then fit to kill and ready to puke. Fortunately it was time to meet Auntie Denise who always has a calming influence on her. So I dodged the bullet yet again.
We went round Cardinal Hill with Auntie Denise and we spotted a big pile of things set out already for trash collection tomorrow.
This included some spectacular plants. With no exaggeration each one of these containers must have cost $200!!
We speed walked home so Ma could get the vegetation into the car and back to our yard before anyone else decided they had potential.
Now they are up on the pillars of our patio!
Can you believe someone would throw these away. It’s only mid August. They can keep on growing till end of October.
Chances are even then they’ll keep going just like the ones she dived on last year that are healthy and happy at the front door of the tearoom.
She winterized them in the window. It’ll be like a Victoria Palm house this year if she brings these latest specimens inside!!!!
I had to resuscitate the tike on the return as the walk back home was so swift.
We are now kipping together with the bro as it’s his day off.
I can handle this and have explained to my niece she better get used to my Mom’s philosophy that there is no shame in the rescue treasures that cross our path. They were destined for the TLC that only we can give!!!
Ma hasn’t talked to me since nine o’clock last night apart from saying let’s go to bed.
I nipped the niece again.
She was chewing my Ma’s ankle so I did it as a defensive move but Ma and Dad were very cross with me.
She was still stewing this morning until she got a call just as we got up.
Seems alarms were going off at the store.
She abandoned me.
Told the brother to shake himself and get up and take care of me and his child.
He understood the command and the urgency. So he did his duty and picked up our poop!
Seems the issue at the store was a battery out in a smoke detector. The lady who rents the apartment got her Dad over to trouble shoot. He’s a fireman so that’s lucky.
The fawns have been out and about the past days and are getting very playful.
They are chewing up our yard and those of our neighbors in particular those with flowering hydrangeas. They must taste good but I’m a meat man so I’ll leave it to my niece to nibble.
The fawns got me thinking that all young ones are naughty and nice.
So even if the tike chews up our things I’m giving her a dispensation and a big slobbery smacker on the lips
