We went round Cardinal Hill with Auntie Denise and we spotted a big pile of things set out already for trash collection tomorrow.
This included some spectacular plants. With no exaggeration each one of these containers must have cost $200!!
We speed walked home so Ma could get the vegetation into the car and back to our yard before anyone else decided they had potential.
Now they are up on the pillars of our patio!
Can you believe someone would throw these away. It’s only mid August. They can keep on growing till end of October.
Chances are even then they’ll keep going just like the ones she dived on last year that are healthy and happy at the front door of the tearoom.
She winterized them in the window. It’ll be like a Victoria Palm house this year if she brings these latest specimens inside!!!!
I had to resuscitate the tike on the return as the walk back home was so swift.
We are now kipping together with the bro as it’s his day off.
I can handle this and have explained to my niece she better get used to my Mom’s philosophy that there is no shame in the rescue treasures that cross our path. They were destined for the TLC that only we can give!!!
Ma hasn’t talked to me since nine o’clock last night apart from saying let’s go to bed.
I nipped the niece again.
She was chewing my Ma’s ankle so I did it as a defensive move but Ma and Dad were very cross with me.
She was still stewing this morning until she got a call just as we got up.
Seems alarms were going off at the store.
She abandoned me.
Told the brother to shake himself and get up and take care of me and his child.
He understood the command and the urgency. So he did his duty and picked up our poop!
Seems the issue at the store was a battery out in a smoke detector. The lady who rents the apartment got her Dad over to trouble shoot. He’s a fireman so that’s lucky.
The fawns have been out and about the past days and are getting very playful.
They are chewing up our yard and those of our neighbors in particular those with flowering hydrangeas. They must taste good but I’m a meat man so I’ll leave it to my niece to nibble.
The fawns got me thinking that all young ones are naughty and nice.
So even if the tike chews up our things I’m giving her a dispensation and a big slobbery smacker on the lips
The bro still hasn’t got the results of his PCR testing so Ma has dispatched him to a town thirty miles away where he can get an antigen test done today. None to be had any closer.
That way we’ll know if she needs to cancel her customers for tomorrow.
All this means we are getting more time inside together as the weather is stinking. All wet and miserable.
The only thing to do is snuggle up.
The tike is getting a lot of attention. In particular sleeping on the couch beside MY MOM. She sleeps a lot.
As soon as she’s finished her snoring Ma dives outside with her to make sure she does her tinkle.
So far so good today.
Her paws are cute but her nails are sharp as scissors and she’s ripped Ma to shreds.
Just as long as she saves her ivories for noshing. They look wicked.
She’s gained two pounds this week so go figure how much she’s eating. That probably explains why she needs all that sleep too.
Tries ever chance she gets to grab a snack from under the table. She’s learned though that I have first dibs on those and that my fags are just as sharp as hers.
The bro went for his Covid test this morning now all we have to do is wait for the results. Immediate impact was that Ma had to cancel her dental appointment and call off her work at the mall this afternoon. Both the dentist and Debbie the mall owner fully understood.
We played a little piggy instead.
This uncertainty means Ma and Pa are grounded so we had a walk and then did our scones for the week.
I love scone day because I get the egg wash that Ma puts on top of them microwaved into a little omelette just for me.
That’s my exclusive deal with my Ma. She doesn’t give treats to her granddaughter. It stops with the snuggles.
The tike is trying hard though to get into the action.
Every time Ma opens the pantry door she’s in there.
Must say that she’s taught me a thing or two that little lady.
You should always be ready to snap ever occasion to get a nomnom.
Ma was all excited yesterday morning because her pal Tjin and her son Arthur were coming to stay for the weekend from Wisconsin.
They were to arrive for dinner after their full day road trip and we were all going to eat BBQ.
Well you know it’s our house so nothing goes to plan.
When Ma got in from work at six Aaron was already home. One of his workmates had tested positive for Covid so all those who’d been in contact with this person were sent home.
Ma called Tjin who was about an hour away from our place. Tjin wisely decided since Arthur is only nine and hasn’t been able to get vaccinated yet she’d stay in a hotel.
Ma and Pa stayed home from Church so we got to play a lot which was fun. We are getting along well now and even pulled piggy together.
Aaron tried to get tested this morning and booked a slot in Columbus but when he got there no one was at the test site so he is booked for tomorrow morning.
Tjin and Arthur did come over for a walk with us to our park and fed the ducks and geese and us.
They are now off to Legoland but they will be back for dinner as it’s safe to sit far apart on the patio.
