Usually when my Ma can’t get something to work she gets all flustered and angry. Today I worked on her.

I was like chill Ma breathe deep like me and trust that with my support all things are possible.

See the printer had been on the blink on and off for weeks and every time she’s gone near it she nearly put it through the window. The faint hearted would have fainted if they’d heard her.

Today after my good council and a trip to Church she felt equipped to tackle the technical trouble. She got it fixed without a single swear word.

The second bill she printed though caused a paper jam. Still not a single sound left her lips. She fixed that too.

The bro then returned from college first year finished already apart from the exams.

I am not confident the containment of her expletives will continue now he’s back as he’s already strewn his stuff everywhere but no matter I’ll love her still.

Coming back from our trot this morning Ma and me spotted two big boxes at our front door.

Had Santa come again since we’ve been so good we wondered?

Not Santa but Auntie Hema.

We couldn’t wait to open them. One was very heavy. It was filled to the brim with my Dads favorite Indian treats. For sure his sister loves him so. He loves her right back just as much. They are super yummy and all handmade.

The second box was bigger but lighter. It contained a gift so special it caused a little tear to appear.

Auntie Hema had made Mum a work of art for her tearoom. She is very gifted at embroidery as well as making snacks and had out done herself with this work of art.

Took he five months to stitch this beauty. So if you ever asked yourself what is Tea? It’s all these things.

You know what? We bros also got special pressies. Aaron got these big sweets called luddos and I got a chicken. He’s not a real chicken but he sure squeaks like one. My cousin Brian choose him specially for me.

We are all very happy, grateful and touched. We feel so loved

Ma and I had a splendid day.

Just as the sun was rising we headed off to Auntie Laura’s.

As you know Ma loves her almost as much as she loves me.

Laura is moving to Georgia as her daughter has been accepted at the University there to begin her veterinary medicine studies.

They have cleared out a lot of things that they don’t plan to take so they were having a big sale.

Ma got the job of pricing.

She even priced herself.

Fortunately no one made an offer so we are on our way home and have just stopped for a walk.

I’m well rested as I had the back seat down snoozing. So glad no one made an offer on herself even though she was a bargain!

Saw a post this morning that’s so true. I don’t care what my Ma wears or which car she drives as long as I can go too. I wonder why they posted such a sad looking dog though for this message! Maybe he didn’t get to go.

I do get embarrassed by her dumpster diving at times. Last night she took it to a new low and recovered a little cabinet form my girlfriends trash. She says it’s perfect for her treasures.

So it was that I hung my head in shame as we took off for work this morning as I recalled the events of last evening.

soon lifted it as there’s absolutely no point in being grumpy for longer than a few minutes.

I was even happier on the way home when she stopped to get me snacks.

She bought cookies too and she couldn’t wait to dive into them as she was starving.

Big smile time as I got to share. Now just imagine if I’d taken a lump out of her earlier I’d be snacking on humble pie rather than Lemon Shortbread!

My Ma is off her rocker. She got up at five, took me for a pee, then took out the trash and got ready for work.

We left before seven. It had snowed. About three inches of the white stuff.

I thought she’d stop along the way for me to do the big job. No way. On we went. She had a hot date with the electricians.

Once they were up and running she got me in the car and stopped a few minutes later for me to do the necessary. She fell in the snow. Her bum was soaked.

Off we went in the direction of home. That I thought was a very short business day. No it wasn’t. She stopped at the doctors got her annual good girl check, swung round home, picked up lightbulbs, made a sandwich and took off again!

The snow was melting by now and the sky had turned blue otherwise I’d have been looking for groundhogs.

Back at the Tearoom the electricians had the floorboards up and we’re in the crawl space under the floor. Ma was close to a breakdown. They do say the darkest hour is just before dawn. I can attest to that as I saw it this morning.

Well the good news is they got what they had to do done and better news yet the bro took a spin by to see the place and took me home.

I was glad as I’d had just enough of work for one day and needed a little shut eye.

Take a look at this picture and tell me what you think.

Is it a masterpiece? Does it capture the expanses of the galaxy as you imagine them?

Some of you will have guessed what it is and others may admire it for what it might be. Still others may be looking for a signature before deciding.

It is in fact my Ma’s painting pants. She’s been wearing them to paint walls, floors and furniture. Now they are going to be framed for posterity.

There are all sorts of things in this world that we take as truth but they may be just a figment of the imagination.

Social media is great at helping us all believe that some live perfect lives that we have to compete with.

Take today as an example, there is a new challenge going viral where you kiss your pet and record how they respond and then upload your video.

Having seen all these kissy kissy pets my Ma hits on me. She just has to compete!

Now she could tell you that as soon as she kissed me I smacked her one right back.

Except that’s not the way it was.

She chased me around the living room for a while, tempted me onto the sofa with a treat and then took about ten minute to capture ten seconds of « love »

I do love her but I also assert myself when she tries to show the world how perfect I am.

Don’t you believe it. I’m a tough little dude no walk over at all. Need to keep her on the straight and narrow.

Just in from work. Crazy day.

We filled out a lot of paperwork for our foodservice license before leaving and then dropped it off.

Our car was loaded with more treasures so I sat up front.

Once delivered we went to get a trash can and signs that say things like « wash your hands ».

We came back to B&B T&T to clean and found the sign advertising our apartment rental was up.

We squeezed in a short walk and are now starving as we had no lunch so must eat.

First though here’s some extra special news! When we passed by the tourist center to tell them about our place we asked when the Harding Museum is opening. Wait for this:-

It’s scheduled to open May 12 that’s Ma and Pa’s 35 wedding anniversary. Now tell me is that’s not a gift? It should be Jade (hint hint) I believe would match the color scheme don’t you think?

We plucked our last bunch of daffodils for this year just now. They are cheerful chaps!

We’re not putting the bunnies away just yet though. Easter tide is not over for another month.

A big one shot across our path this morning but I was too late to catch it. I’m keep my eyes pealed in case it returns. They like our succulents and Lily shoots.

We didn’t cook our big Easter ham as the bro was working but he’s off today so Dad’s in the kitchen getting it ready.

It’s a monster. About a third of my size. I’m excited.

Ma is working so I’ll just sit in the sun, sniff the scent and drool till it’s done!

Such a touching tribute to a great man we just witnessed.

The sky was as blue as the Greek Flag under which the Prince was born.

The deep quiet and stillness in the chapel made the music so powerful.

Everyone’s grief was masked but real and solitary. I understood and was silent.

Tears in the eyes and heads bowed.

Beautiful. Hope those puppies will give her Majesty some extra love when she gets home.

Ma and me had such a fun day.

First we made more scones. Our goal was timing how long it takes. We wolfed down a big one and worked it off with a long walk Auntie Denise.

Next up we went to the car repair shop as we now have another warning light on. This car is a bit like the project it’s a never ending repair job.

After that we headed to our project at Marion. We did a lot of bitty things like getting keys cut for the agent who’s going to list the apartment.

After that we had some fun in the graveyard. Beautiful spot

Our goal at this place, that is destined to be our regular walking trail, is to find the oldest gravestone. Today we did good. Someone born 1813! Can we beat that?

Those guys are long gone but are not kicking up the daisy’s instead they’ve produced very pretty little purple posies.

Must be down to all the good nitrogen supplied by guys like me or maybe by those avians who wander around like they own the place making such a racket.
