You might think it’s only humans who feel elated on Friday but you’re wrong.

See the thing is we pets pick up on our peeps moods and it’s hard to make Ma mad on Friday.

Well the demonic does her best but even she has to work at being particularly objectionable to rile her.

This morning Dad had a check up at the hospital at 8:00. That means we had to get up early as you have to be there fifteen minutes before the appointment and it’s half an hour from home. Had this been a Monday Ma would have been snarling but since it’s Friday she just swung into action like she’d had a lie in.

There is no rhyme or reason for this. A days a days a day. You gets your kibble and you does your widdle but if Wrinkle Woman says Fridays are fun we gotta agree. We’re game for any laugh.

What to do but Scooby Doo your brightest and biggest smile and then

you’ll get to ride shotgun with your ancient parents down the River road while the monster still sleeps. Bliss!

Today Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth II turns 96. She’s such an amazing woman. My Ma loves her so much.

Almost as much as she loves her bestie my Auntie Carol who had her birthday yesterday.

The palace website thought it appropriate to release a few pics of her majesty.

One taken recently and another from days gone by.

So not to be outdone by any professional media masters I said to Ma run into your baby book and get a good old pic of Auntie Carol.

We’ll release it in honor of her big day too.

The oldest one we can find dates from Christmas 1962 when Ma was in the business it seems of pulling Auntie Carols hair out in handfuls if she couldn’t get her own way. Ma is the younger of the two you see and very definitely the naughtiest.

They resolved their issues though and remain besties for ever!

There may be hope for me and Megs yet.

As for that other “Meg” in Ma and my opinions as expert royal commentators there is no hope for her or her Harry. They are history!

As WW is still feeling tender we thought we would be good kids and play together to give her a break.

We decided on doctors and nurses which we thought was most appropriate given WWs condition.

Mega played dead so I had to administer artificial respiration.

I was exhausted when that was over clean out of breath I was so had to go into the recovery position myself.

She soon rallied though, got her second wind and decided it was her turn to administer TLC.

She didn’t need to dress up as she looks like she’s wearing a uniform anyway.

WW was delighted as she was deep into a new drama “Anatomy of a Scandal” . Very appropriate indeed!

This is a joint epistle. You might call it a confession. Good for the soul they say. Hope we are both looking suitably contrite.

See what happened was we were out for a walk last Friday morning and we both saw something interesting. On one side there was a white car that is a must chase for me (Scooby) and on the other side a squirrel that is irresistible to those who are half starved (Nala).

So one of us pulled one way and the other one pulled the other way and we did Wrinkle Woman’s back in.

She’s a wreck! Walking like she’s made of stone.

Result is she has to take us out separately as it’s still hurting especially when she has to pick up poop. She’s having to squat down to get it rather than bend over. That makes her more unstable so she can’t hold us both and do the collection.

We are sorry, at least we’re pretending to be sorry, that we caused such disruption but every cloud has a silver lining. We get one on one personal attention PLUS……

Auntie Denise has swung into action and has come up with a new way for us to put on our leash so we never hurt Wrinkle Woman again.

It’s a sort of wrap around the belly with a twist type of affair that she uses with horses but we’re in compliance so as not to upset Wrinkly any more at this point. There’s only so much time out we two can take especially when it has to be spent together.

When WW is back to normal we’ll yank her apart once more.

Hope you all had a great Easter. Here it was beautiful except for the freezing cold. The temperature was lower than Christmas Day! So good for appetite though!

We started with a brilliant big moon and then a fine trot.

Dad got all dressed up in his best suit for the first time in ages and looked really good. I told him he was handsome so he gave me cookies! They don’t call me Smart move Scoob for nothing!

We had to have our celebrations early as the bro was working at 3:00. We ate so much at our lunch that our tummies hurt. Of course Mega does this every day so she recovered fast.

When the bro took off we all had a good snooze and then Ma walked us some more so we had room to squeeze in supper.

Being a big Jane Austen fan Ma was thrilled to have the BBCs Mansfield Park from 1983 on PBS. She said she remembers watching it with Auntie Carol when they were “young”

Mega and I found all that period stuff a bit boring so we played soldiers. She watched the back window and I watched the front and we barked at ever walker or biker that passed.

Dad screamed at us and then Ma screamed at him to be quiet so she could hear her drama.

By the time Call The Midwife came on we were all hoarse.

It was very sad this week but still it did make a fine end to a lovely day.

Greetings you Passionate Pitty Peeps and a very happy Easter to y’all.

It’s my first as y’all know and I’m ready to resurrect a rumpus.

Granny has been coordinating that old stinker of a Gizz and me for holiday photos. She has definitely gone bananas!

Of course like some sort of dimwit Saint he poses for her with his bow tie on and shows his best profile.

I went for him.

Dove in straight at the neck.

I was moving fast hence the action nature of all these pics.

Grabbed the cloth from around him and ripped it off like the shroud of Turin.

I went under the table to try to nosh it but wrinkle woman got me. Nearly strangled me. Now I ask you is that the right attitude for a day such as this.

I went for my bonnet next. It has more substance that the Gizz’s stupid tie anyway!

Wrinkle got that too.

I have now been consigned to closed quarters to cogitate while they all go to sing hallelujah.

I suppose it could be worse she might have dressed us as rabbits or chickens. They’re almost as stupid as the Gizz.

I too will rise again and while they are not looking I’m going to make a bid for that stuff that’s cooling in the oven.

Be blessed beautiful believers. I will be victorious!

Have you heard of people taking the « head staggers »?

It’s a common phrase in Northern Ireland and has nothing to do with drinking EtOH!!

It means you have gone off your rocker. That’s another good one you may not know that Ma uses all the time!

Equals gone crazy.

Well it’s happened to my Ma.

She took one look at my haircut and she’s like Scooby you look so young.

So off she went to the local Great Clips. By the way they do humans only and are a lot cheaper than canine groomers!!!!!!

When she came home last night I’m not sure she looked younger but she certainly had lost weight!

Almost bald she is but if it makes her happy I’ll take my cue from Dad and say it looks good. Dad learned his lesson about thirty years ago that no matter what you always say Ma’s latest « do » looks fab!

It’s good when you earn your living within an hour of waking.

I’d just had a nibble of kibble a sip of Adams Ale and a quick leak when bingo I was forced into action.

The herd was grazing out back.

It’s so important this time of year that they know I’m here and I’m in charge.

They don’t touch the daffodils but they have already started on the lilies that’s one of their favs.

So my job is to shoo them off to the neighbors.

Done deal! They won’t be back till sunset so I can relax for a few minutes till the monster stirs.

Remember I had my haircut postponed and that it all worked out fine because it was freezing and I needed my coat? Well yesterday the time came for me to get the job done.

I didn’t fuss. You gotta take the rough with the smooth or as the case may be the curly with the cropped.

I was excessively good at the groomers. They said they’d never met a better chap. Mom agreed and as always said that I am « the best dog ever born ».

Such was my merit that I was rewarded with an Easter necktie that I promise I’ll wear again on Sunday.

Having been so good I got to have a swift trot you know where on the way home between the showers.

The niece did not recognize me. Took to fighting even when her dinner was laid out in front of her. That’s a serious cause for concern as nothing has previously been know to come between her and her kibble!

Ma thought she was going to do me in so she was transferred to the patio to chill.

She’s still at it this morning. Think she thinks I’m from another pack so she’s protecting her peeps.

I admit I do smell a little different. Some would say a great improvement a bit like that Feb breeze the bro sprays in his room to mask the stink.

I’d call it funky but soon get my butch will be back. It only takes a day or two for scent to evaporate. I should be nice and ripe by Easter!

My Mom is almost always good to her word.

As promised we hit the trails yesterday since I’d helped her so much managing Mega.

I was elated. Left my instagrams all over the place as I hadn’t been there for a while and needed to make sure other critters know this is my stomping ground.

I was gentle around the first flowers of the forest.

They are so small and I’m so huge I showed them how tender I can be.

By the time we got to the river I was feeling kinda thirsty but Ma said I’d get too mucky if I got in.

Funny that as we saw two men at different spots up to their knees in the water fishing.

One had a line the other a net. We don’t know what they were after but I’d love to have a go.

When you’re out in the wild like this it makes you think that we could have been doing this walk a thousand years ago and you’d never have known the difference.
