Wagging Tail – 140

What a stellar day I had. Great sleep, up early, said hello to Venus while I had a leak! So bright right!

The breakfast was unique. Herself spilled my kibble all over the pantry. Not to worry it tasted good with all the extra dust added such flavor.

After a long walk I got a ride in the car and then settled in for a snooze with Dad while Ma went to work at the Antique Store.

She always feels a little guilty leaving me so when she came back we took another ride this time to the dog park.

FULL! Dogs everywhere! I worked off a million calories and then when I come home she fills my bowl with more of my crunchies and tops them off with chili. HOT and Mama!

Blessing # 804 – Super Sunday

Wagging Tail – 139

Tell me. How would you feel if someone you loved came home with a substitute?

My nose is totally out of joint.

She went bargain hunting today and found this wooden hand made door stopper. Problem is it’s a dog and it’s bigger than I am.

She has such a nerve. I almost had a seizure.

Brings in all her new treasures to show off.

Look Scooby what do you think.

A quick sniff and it was clear.

One of her finds was just what she needed. I’ll have you know it’s not easy being her dog either!

Blessing # 803 – Perfect Fits

Wagging Tail – 138

We got rain! It started at 11:15 and has been going on in fits and starts ever since! Torrents! We are so happy.

The thunder has been spectacular. Of course we can’t see the lightening in the daytime but I still keep an eye on the storm. Another of my talents. Weather watcher!

Mother has taken to the snacks early tonight. She usually saves the munching for after dinner but she is stressed and needed spice! Absolutely nothing to do with storms at least not the heavenly type.

The quotes are coming in for the project and they are very much more aligned with Dads predictions rather than her own. She is pursing the lips and making her fierce face.

I claimed a nibble but given her mood withdrew fast.
Way too spicy anyway!

Trail mix! Better make it Trail Maker Ma. You’re going to need the cash.

Light a few more candles! Very much in keeping with the period of the building. Who needs electricity and heating anyway!

Blessing # 802 – Estimates!

Wagging Tail – 137

None of you commented on my joke in yesterday’s blessing for the day of the dog? Blessing-Teeth-Canine- Dog! I’m so smart aren’t I! Could have been a code buster in a previous life!

The incisors were used today to nosh a big apple. Herself was chopping up the old ones that were going a bit withery and there were more than she could fit in the salad bowl. A case in point (canine again) for my cup running over.

You need to put the paw down sometimes to get that little bit of extra attention. It really worked for me today.

For the first time in a long time I got to have a fine siesta too while herself relaxed for an hour scrolling through her Facebook.

She’d been to the project to meet the architect this morning. He was a bit concerned she was getting ahead of herself but now they are on the same page. He seems like a sensible sort.

On the way back she cleaned up her booth at the antique mall ready for adding some new stock for fall and then did the groceries so was feeling very self righteous.

She even got me a nice piece of ham for my dinner. That won’t need much chewing I’ll just wolf it down.

Blessing # 801 – Cured (think about it, it’s another one of my hidden messages!)

Wagging Tail – 136

Unless Your Name is Scooby

You’d never guess it’s National Dog Day. While others are tenderly caring for their pooch and posting photos all over social media I’ve been abandoned by herself from nine till five.

Oh yeh she claims to be very busy getting heating and cooling and gardening and heaven knows what arranged at « the project Â» while I suffocate here with paint fumes in this horrendous heat.

95 Fahrenheit! You could fry eggs on the pavement. We’d probably not have been able to get our steps in even if she had been here. Don’t tell her that though!

Each day she whispers in my ear that I’m her one and only. The love of her life. My foot!

I’m telling you now that this place better have a room marked Scooby Shack or I’m out of here.

Blessing # 800 – Teeth

Wagging Tail – 135

I’m going underground. Each day more tea-room treasures are brought home. I fear I might be displaced to make room for them. Worse still if I break any I may be returned to Texas!

If it’s not enough that herself is out digging for gold her friends have started to supply her too.

This weekend Auntie Lori brought a beautiful mirror and cute little electric candle from her Moms. They will be perfect in her place and Ma has the very exact spot lined up for them.

Another pal Carole gave Ma a fine bone china cake stand today. It is gorgeous and will be perfect to present the tearooms « Cake of the Day »

Our car has an automatic pilot that now goes directly to Goodwill and it’s rare that Ma leaves empty handed.

Today she picked up something that sums up the whole adventure.

She sure has the eye and yes I do believe in angels! After all I’m one myself!

Blessing # 799 – Faith.

Wagging Tail – 134

I got to go out a lot today as the workers at our house were painting inside. My trip to the dog park just now was a little disappointing as there was only Ma to play with. I guess Monday afternoon is not peak time for puppy parties.

Our dog park is set in an orchard and with the hot weather all the apples are falling. You need to be careful as they can hit the ground or even your cranium with a solid plop.

Ma played tennis with me but that’s not nearly as much fun as chasing the girls. It’s especially challenging when the ball looks just like the apples.

After a few sets I decided to come back home. The place smelt like a brewery with all those fruits rotting away.

The house doesn’t smell much better I’ll just succumb to the stink and snooze.

Blessing # 798 – Shut Eye

Wagging Tail – 133

Well I can’t complain too much today. Herself walked me in the cool of the morning and again just now.

We have been painting! Our lovely handyman is doing the external woodwork and Ma is experimenting with transformation of frames of some of her rescued treasures for the tea-room.

Dad is not convinced it is a good idea. He think she should leave the old and well alone. Of course you know when something gets into her head you can’t stop her. The one on the right is the original and the one in the middle is her masterpiece!

She woke up with a fit of the giggles this morning. She told me that for some reason, thinking of all the work going on she remembered the first time she heard of a certain persons occupation before taking to politics.

He was a painter. When Ma heard this she was just a kid and thought he painted walls and windows. Of course he was or wanted to be an artist. Heaven knows why she thinks this is funny but she does. Hysterical? NO!

It would make you scream for help. Who the heck has heard of Hitler!

Blessing # 797 – Brushed

Wagging Tail – 132

Auntie Denise is back from her travels so Ma skipped Zumba and we went for a good walk and catch up.

Perfect morning with bright blue sky and wispy clouds. Still no rain so the earth is like a rock.

You can’t have everything can you?

Like I mean you can’t expect to have your bro at home if he’s left for college.

Well maybe you can if he happens to only be an hour away and needs to pick up some reference books that just arrived.

They’d have been here before he left if he hadn’t ordered them at the last minute.

Still, they did get here before classes start on Tuesday and did allow us to enjoy a three thousand calorie snack together!

Blessing # 796 – Feeding the Mind

Wagging Tail – 131

It was terribly quiet around the house today but overall enjoyable. No fighting not a single scream!

Ma and I got up really late and met Auntie Lori to feed the ducks.

I get involved so none of them takes a run at her. She is so good to me and has my treats ready each morning when I ring her door bell.

On our outing I found a few perfect little acorns that Ma says she’s going to plant at the project. From little acorns mighty oak trees grow. Ever hopeful my Ma!

When we got home she took off and returned with a real stash of stuff. Old table clothes and more pictures! She won’t need to paint the walls at all.

She also reports to finding a teapot without a lid that is going to be a flower vase. Well what else? She left it at the project to stake its claim.

I’m going up soon to check our the place to make sure she is taking wise decisions but that teapot sure looks good on that shelf.

Blessing # 795 – Oldies that are Goodies
