We are so stinking excited we can’t speak.

Thanks to the time change we woke up at 4:30. We tried to get back into a nice dream but nothing doing.

So at 5:00 Ma goes and gets her phone. It sleeps in the living room.

She then pulls up the window blinds and stands gazing out at the heavens!

Look look Scooby she says it’s happening.

Never in our wildest dreams did we think we’d get such a perfect view of a lunar eclipse.

From the comfort of our very own bedroom smack bang in front of us we saw it all.

Now here is the funny thing. The darker it got like the more eclipsed it was the better the pictures turned out.

Suddenly the moon was pink!

The pics are pretty pathetic but team we saw it.

Now while we’re waiting for the reverse to happen we’re writing this epistle to you and feeling so happy!

Long long long ago when Granny was about my age she went to the Windsor Cinema on the Donegall Road in Belfast one Saturday afternoon with great Auntie Carol to see a movie.

It was a Disney movie but it scared the bejebers out of both gals because it had a barmy banshee.

Recently in our Facebook feed we’ve been getting a promotional about a new movie featuring, you guessed it, banshees. Do you think “the algorithm” knows Granny went to see Darby or do you think it’s just a coincidence?

What I hear you ask is a Banshee? I confess I had the same question myself. Well I’ve been told within Irish folklore it is the harbinger of death!

On foggy mornings like the ones we had last week you could just imagine it creeping around and jumping out on you.

Looks a bit like the Gizz all old and ugly and grey if you ask me.

He’s no good at howling though that’s my forte maybe I’ll give Granny a little free fright next time we have a pea souper.

Passionate Peeps it is your very own Princess here. Have you missed me?

I know you heard of my exploits with Consuela well go figure fans there is but one Princess in this Palace and that’s me.

Her death was a God send as it brought me KONG. He is both tough and tender as all Princely sorts should be.

I just love wrapping my lips around him and in the past twenty four hours he has become just a little flaky due to my continuing embraces.

Gives that old Woofder Scooby the time to cuddle up with his Scottie.

What an absolutely amateur he is. Soft toys at his age. An embarrassment to our species.

This is a very appropriate number for my post today because I have been rescued.

Auntie Marsha responded to my calls for help and sent a KONG for Jaws.

She said it was definitely indestructible and had been road tested on Libby her Great Dane.

I am beyond ecstatic to report that after thirty six hours of near on constant attack and on close inspection Kong is still King.

Not a smidgen of substance has been removed from his body. The house is filled with a delightful rasping that signals peace on earth and good will to all men.

I am in heaven but giving it a few more days before putting Scottie anywhere near Mega just in case.

Yesterday was Dads birthday. We got him a big box of tricks.

It contained chest rub that he uses as an alternate body lotion, enough cough drops to keep him going to Christmas when Santa will bring more, a stock of salonpas for his sore back, a pair of readers, a big word finder in case he runs out of books, some soft socks (what is a birthday without them?) and le crème de la crème two weekly AM PM pill organizers since one would not suffice.

Since all that was seriously useful stuff we splurged on funny cards.

Can you guess who gave him which one?

Poor soul made us all dinner. The whole house still smells divine this morning of Indian spices from his lemon rice and tandoori chicken.

Keep up the good work Dad and never get older as we love you even though we drive you nuts!

I was reflecting a few days ago with the bro on how much I missed the dear departed Piggy that his daughter dismembered some months ago.

Fear not he said dear Scoob next time I have a day off I’ll spend some of my hard earned cash and get you a new squeaky.

Good to his word he went shopping yesterday and returned with a beautiful beast for me that I’ve name Scottie as he is wearing tartan.

He got the niece a cactus called Consuela because it is said to be multilayered and indestructible.

Well no need to tell you it lasted less than thirty minutes. She ripped off the flower first, then the prickly layer and once that was gone launched into the rubber inside and soon it was toast.

Great fighting then ensued as she attempted to overthrow me and get Scottie.

Not on your life Princess.

This baby is mine and I’ll defend him till the end even if it means heading to my hide out!

Ma and I made a quick early exit to bed to beat a blood bath.

You’ll be happy to hear Scottie spent a happy night snuggled up with Ma and me and is up and ready to fight on another day.

Do you ever wake up and roll over and go back to sleep and have a lovely dream.

It is my experience that the dreams you have in the morning are always sweet unlike the ones that wake you up in the middle of the night. Everyone is kind and no one is cross and it can really set you up for day even if you have to deal with demons.

I love sleeping. In fact apart from going car it’s my favorite thing in the whole world to do. If I had to choose between the two I’d choose sleep.

My ideal place for a timeless uninterrupted slumber is under the bed it’s so snuggly and free of human tossing.

As I have to take care of Mom when shes awake and Dad when she’s away I don’t get that much opportunity to slumber unless we have an afternoon siesta.

A long nights sleep is the greatest thing ever invented. I think heaven will be like a really good dream.

Wonder why we don’t sleep more. Oh well time to scrape myself off the carpet and do worldly work!

Hi y’all how was you Halloween? Ours was very warm and a little wet but we still got takers for our candy.

Granny made me and the Gizz stay indoors but we still greeted everyone with a good old growl.

Some of our neighborhood yards were adorned with all sorts of huge blown up critters this year. That’s the new in thing!

Take the Kitty that was as tall as the first floor of a house. Sorta spooked me first time I saw it but when you realize it’s not out to get you it cool.

If you happen to be afraid of spiders close your eyes now

Of course you can tell it’s not real unlike the ones Granny wrapped around our candy bucket which were tarantula types and could be mistaken for the real McCoy!

The award for best decor certainly doesn’t go to our feeble ghosts and skulls.

We’re giving it to Jasmit and Scott and their girls at the end of our cul de sac for their graveyard

Their swinging corpse freaks Granny out each time she passes it because it moves mysteriously.

Cracks me up watching her and the ghoulish old Gizz jump!

Ma woke up early this morning so she thought she’d do a little homework while I snoozed.

The Bishop had been to our Church yesterday and his sermon was all about faith and vision.

It was based on the book of Habakkuk, indicated as the text for this Sunday in this years Church Lectionary. Not necessarily a part of the Bible your average dude like my Ma would have read often!

Funny name that. How on earth do you pronounce it! Regardless turns out Habakkuk had a big influence on Saint Paul among others and even features in a commentary found in the Dead Sea scrolls.

Fortunately this “minor” prophet cut to the chase and didn’t write too much so Ma was able to do her homework and read the three chapters in fifteen minutes and can now as the Bishop pointed out say she read a book of the Bible this morning!

In a nutshell this is the deal. Habakkuk is fierce annoyed

So he tells God and God answers him

So do the same the Bishop says speak your mind because there ain’t no hiding from the almighty.

Yesterday was a game day and I’m not talking about pheasants!

Our team, the greatest in the land, was playing an old rival Penn State.

The game was in the afternoon so Ma and the bro were at work. Here’s the thing though. Dad’s got really into it this year and gets glued to the TV too. Must be his higher hemoglobin!

I stuck with him while the niece gnawed nicely wearing her ever present red collar of course.

People go crazy here and even have tribute gear for their dogs. Hope Dad doesn’t get any ideas because I ain’t wearing no sweater over this fur coat.

Regardless the result was a good one
