Ma is home safe and we are all relieved as Pits is still Poorly. Puked up her dinner again fortunately when out on her walk and not on the carpet. Ma still had to pick it all up!!!

She is in good form otherwise chewing indigestibles and cheering on her team.

Ma reckons she has eaten something that’s blocking her stomach. If she doesn’t keep her brekkie down we’ll be off to the ER.

The Super Bowl was absolutely brilliant. I was rooting for Philly and Pits for the Chiefs. Everyone was a winner at that game.

It was a real bone cruncher.

The ads were fun and the anthem one of the best ever and half time show awesome.

We all enjoyed the big reveal of Rihanna’s super surprise her new little baby bump.

Precious Peeps it’s a Poorly Pits.

Appropriately as Gran works on prison ministry I was incarcerated all day yesterday.

When Dad came home and I was released but I ate my dinner so fast I barfed it all up again. At least he will have no poop to deal with this morning.

I talked to Granny who told me to be strong like all good gals.

She said we have it very cushy at our place and this is only for a few days.

Reminded me of that documentary we watched some days ago about girls in India.

It does give you perspective on life.

Check it out if you haven’t seen it. Well worth a view.

I’m going to rest now as I’ll need all my energy later to greet Granny on her return.

I looked out the front window. She didn’t come home.

I looked out the back window she didn’t come home.

I went back to the front and trouble took my place at the back.

So I chased her away !

It was the most exercise I had all day.

Reclaimed my spot on the sofa that has the best view to the kitchen.

Might as well be first in line for snacks since there’s nothing else of interest today.

Mom had a word with me this morning.

Listen up Scooby she said I have to leave you in charge here for a few days. I’m going to Indianapolis today to do some training for my Kairos work at the prison. You have to take care of Dad make sure he takes his meds and make sure Nala isn’t too naughty.

Your bro will take you out when he comes home from work and you’ll have to sleep with him also so he can take you out before he leaves for work. Talk to him if needed.

I know I’m running for president but I’m panic stricken.

How will I cope without my head honcho.

No exercise.

No morning snuggles

What if the bro is delayed at work.

How long can I hold on.

Can I cope without killing Jaws?

Can I cope without killing Dad?

I need to breathe deeper and do some yoga.

Ma got super excited yesterday.

She’d been going through her Facebook feed when she hit on a new post from the history site « Banbridge Back in the Day »

Banbridge is the town in County Down where her Dad and Mum came from and where some of our family still live.

Anyway the post was of a smiling gent celebrating his 100th birthday back in 1992 that just happened to be her great uncle Charlie.

So of course she has to post the fact all over Facebook and that’s when it got real good.

I had to smile at all her ohs and ahs as each new post came in.

See lots of others were also claiming relationships to the happy chappy and also saying great things about what a dear heart he was.

Finally we got to the best bit, the census of 1911 that included Charlie and my mom’s grandmother Ellen along with their parents and some of their 14 siblings all living together in Reilly Street. They even had a lodger. Must have been cosy!!!!!!

So now Mom has connection to lots more second and third cousin than any girl could have dreamed of. It was like a living breathing commercial for Ancestry.com

There is no doubt this happens to everyone.

You sleep like a log.

Wake with a jolt and have a little panic.

That’s what happened to Ma and me today.

Last thing we knew it was 9:30 pm and then all of a sudden it was 6:30am.

We immediately jumped out of bed thinking it was Trash-Day Thursday, when we scurry to get things to the curb, only to discover with glee that it’s only Wednesday.

So I get some time to sit and think

Ma gets time for a second coffee

All before we wake « Trouble

Peace perfect peace.

After the turkey on Sunday we all sat down to a family movie night.

The Irish Banshee film that is up for so many awards is now on HBO so we decided we had to see it.

It’s always good strategy to get the Irish on your side for a presidential campaign as at least half the population here claim some shamrocks in their stories.

The scenery is beautiful. Typically of Irelands rugged coast. Ma and the bro began planning their next trip.

The acting also was grand and we hope someone wins a gong.

The movie however is horrendous. We won’t spoil the plot for you suffice to say it was unbelievably BAD. So bad you almost have to see it to believe it.

Ma says she hasn’t been as disappointed since she dragged Dad to the cinema back in 1998 to see the Blair Witch Project.

We have decided to endear the Irish we’ll henceforth stick with John Wayne!

Last Sunday when the parents went to Aldi for our weekly shopping Butterballs we’re on offer for 49 cents a pound.

So Ma being a lover of both turkey and bargains snagged an 18 pounder that thawed in our fridge this week.

Since it was the end of the Chinese new year we cooked it yesterday.

We tried something different than our usual cooking method. We salted it well, threw it in uncovered on roast at 350F for an hour until the skin got all crispy and then turned the oven to bake at 300F for three hours while we had our siesta and a trot.

PERFECTION. Norman Rockwell picture perfect if we say so ourselves.

We took photos as Turkeys play an important role at the White House and we plan to approach both Aldi and Butterball with a promotional deal for my campaign.

Just as we were admiring our work and Ma was taking her Nigella Lawson pose by the stove to make the gravy disaster struck.

She had carefully poured the juices into the pot and was adding corn flour when the packed slipped from her hand, hit the handle of the saucepan and both cornflour and warming turkey juice went flying everywhere including over her and me.

What a mess but I never smelled so tasty.

Took us almost as long to clean up as it did to roast the critter.

So much truth in that saying « pride comes before a fall »

Precious Perps it PITS Perfect. Didn’t that give you a pleasant surprise for Sunday!

I have been forgiven for my transgressions by Dad not sure about Grandpa he is prejudiced by my breed.

Granny and Auntie Paula have been so busy with their big February event these past days that poor old Gran was past caring.

She was working her little fingers to the bone making tiny treats and serving afternoon tea not to mention washing mountains of dishes that she’s ready to look the other way no matter what I chew up.

She was so late home last night that Dad had to take us out for our trot.

So I told her to relax and chill. I’m such a great therapist!

We gals gotta stick together and put our best fashion feet forward.

Maybe I’ll get to be in the show next year if I play my card right!
