For over a week now bags of deliciousness have been sitting on our kitchen counter.

They are filled with extra special treats bought for us by Auntie Marsha to comfort me and to reward my “nice niece nurse” in my time of injury and suffering.

Last night because Ma was feeling extra specially sweet and generous after a successful day at the prison with her Kairos peeps she cracked and opened them for us as they are exclusively individually wrapped.

I savored the aroma of the peanut butter paw like a gourmet.

Jaws abandoned both bones briefly to admire the gift but ………..

once unveiled she swallow hers in one glorious gulp. It was an iced bone! You’ll need to trust me on that!

They are magnificent creations better than any human food even pizza!

Blessing#1470-Splendid Snacks

Blessing#1470-Splendid Snacks

Ma loves to buy clothes in thrift stores and garage sales.

She bought this blouse first.

Some months later she bought the pants.

This summer she found the shoes at her friend Gayles yard sale. They are the most comfy shoes ever. Gayle said it was because she’d broken them in!!

Now tell me that this “ensemble” was not meant to be.

So matchy matchy it looks like designer couture.

But wait that’s not it all.

When, last evening, she pulled out the pooper bag, purchased as frugal minded people do at The Dollar Store, it just cracked me up!!!

See she has an eye for color can match things even without her glasses on by just sniffing out a bargain!!!!!!!

Blessing#1469-Gifts

We’re just back from our trot.

It was more like a gallop because it’s absolutely freezing and Ma went out with her shorts on!!!

92F on Wednesday afternoon and 40F this morning.

A big north wind came in yesterday. Clean blew one of Ma’s pillar pots into the yard. Surprisingly not a single branch broke!

I love it because it makes me feel frisky or as frisky as you can feel with this stupid collar on!

Ma loves it because it’s an excuse for a long soak in a hot bath.

As for the beast she’s just soaking up the sun and doing a bit of deer spotting.

Blessing#1468-Ups and Downs

This gigantic thunderstorm rolled though about an hour ago and woke us up.

Ma looked at the clock on the bedside table without putting her specks on and got up. Can’t see right at all!!!

I stayed in the bedroom which is my way of telling her it’s too early but she shooed me out.

Of course as always I was right.

You’ve got to just shake your head at her sometimes.

It was only 5:48

Oh well an early breakkie and a little snooze by her side as she partakes in the black stuff and does her social media stuff while the thunder roars and the beast that is my niece sleeps!

Blessing#1466-Bonus Hour

I’ve been a perfect Princess over the past twenty four hours. Almost as good as Charlotte!

I felt I fitted right in alongside all those dressed in black and with my collar I could have been a mascot for those guards dressed in red!

My Granny is still coming to terms with the passing of the Queen.

She totally lost it yesterday when first Emma and then Sandy and Muick made appearances at the farewell.

The Elizabethan era is over. Just look at those puppy’s faces.

We like them pray “light perpetual” shines upon the greatest monarch the world has every know. Weren’t we blessed to have been her subjects.

Now we turn the page.

Blessing#1465-Caroleans

We didn’t sleep much as we were worried we’d miss the Queen’s Funeral.

As it turned out we were up at 4:30.

We saw it all along with billions of other people.

Spectacular

Here there was a huge thunderstorm so I was unable to keep the two minutes silence.

Thankfully in London the sun came out.

What touched Ma most and probably many other people were the familiar hymns that were sung.

Made the National Service seem so like a family one. We bowed our heads.

Blessing#1464-Love Divine

Fall in Ohio is a very fine time.

It may be a bit misty of a morning but sunrises are spectacular and it’s fresh and cool.

The corn in the fields is turning yellow giving everything a warm homey feel.

The farmers are busy getting everything into the big silos and there is football too every weekend.

Couldn’t ask for more than that except perhaps your own Nyla back!

Blessing#1463-Harvest Time

Is there anything you have tasted that makes your mouth water?

If not try a hickory smoked Pill Pocket.

Ma has been using them since Monday to make sure my meds go down my digestive tube.

They are such clever little morsels of magnificence. All you do is stick the med in the middle and bingo it’s a done deal.

I hate to be nosy but they should have things like this for kids and old people too who don’t like to take their pills.

As far as I’m concerned I can keep taking meds for life if it means I get to pop these

I might have to practice limping to be sure!

Blessing#1462-Savory Incentives

What a lot of adventures we had this morning. Maybe because we were out just after dawn. Auntie Denise had her phone with her so she took these pics for me.

First we smelt skunk. When that happens you don’t hang around you get out of the area as quickly as possible. That smells stick around and follows for a mile.

Next up came the bunnies but they move too fast when pursued by a Pitty to get a pic.

Deer are different. Around here they are almost tame. When we rounded the corner in the park a Mom and her baby where munching in the meadow. We think it may be Memorial but can’t be sure. Her fawn spots are almost gone.

They just looked at us. Straight in the eye.

As we approached they didn’t even move.

This is how close we got.

Would you believe me if you didn’t see this with your own eyes?

Next up came the ducks. We have about twenty of them who hang out together. They too let us get up close and personal until Jaws takes a lunge at them.

Finally for today we got to see the Heron whose so handsome.

These critter may not be lions, elephants and wilder beasts but they sure do give you the goose bumps when they head to their watering hole of a morning.
