Yesterday started out all smiles.

I was on my way to work real early or so I thought until just outside town Ma took a left and I knew I was headed to the groomers.

OH NO!

We got there at 10:00 but there was no sign of life.

Another dog and their human showed up but still no groomer.

We called and texted and rang the door bell and walked around to look for the groomers dogs. Nothing!

So we left at 10:15 and I came to work. We heard later from her that she was in bed sick and asleep.

It poured so hard the rain pelted in the open car window and I had to escape to the back seat. I got a partial bath rather than the full works!

Worse still it also water also started running through the window that Ma had paid $2000 to install last fall.

Many towels were needed to mop up the mess and the installers came quickly to see if they could repair it but things seemed to get worse instead of better.

Poor Ma had to soldier on and smile when customers came but she has just about had it and is ready to throw in the towel on this old building that never seems to give her a break.

I did my best to console her on the way home and give her my best counsel as she was freaking out a bit.

Just as well I kept my coat on. I’m more like a good old cuddly toy when I’ve got it and she sure needed one!

Yesterday was another Goldilocks day and Ma had a few of her favorite customers in so even though she’s meant to be off on Tuesday she went to work and took me along for the ride.

We brought the chicks (aka ducks) along too. A few were decapitated on route before they got on the people’s plates so I got them. Thank you bumps. Yum!

To work them off we did a short graveyard trot as it was very windy.

Now you may wonder what’s such fun in a graveyards well let me tell you there is plenty to see.

Still no Barr’s located but we found someone that must be related in some respects to myself.

I was no sooner home than I had to exercise my vocals herding them off!

Somewhat prophetic that trip!

You’ve heard the saying about the importance of getting your ducks in a row? Well Ma and me were working on that yesterday!

Sometimes you’ve got to think ahead.

So even though we are only half way through lent we thought we better get cracking (sorry!) for Easter

We don’t have chick cutters but ducks lay eggs so we thought they were a close approximation.

We made multitudes.

Not sure if ducks have a collective name other than a flock but we’ve made enough to do a few weeks.

We locked up trouble so we wouldn’t have any bad karma around the little lovelies and we made them some nests too!

Nonetheless when we opened the big storage tin to get a few out for Tuesday Morning Group just now we found one had been decapitated.

Most unfortunate for the bird but very tasty. Best medicine a canine could have on another day.

Mum says you know you are REALLY ancient when you remember the events in historical dramas.

Yesterday she was snuggled up with the niece watching the first episode of the new series of Call The Midwife.

It’s definitely a woman’s program. Do you recognize this girl?

The program makes Ma go all gooey so Dad and I just smile and do our own thing when it’s on.

We take care to keep out traps shut or we might get an earful from Ma.

Last night the story was all about the Eurovision Song Contest of 1967 that the UK won!

This is kind of ironic as here in the USA another new series is starting tonight. It’s a copy of Eurovision.

Sometimes it takes the States a while to catch up on the Brits!

It’s the spring equinox as you all know but we can’t see the sun here as it’s all yucky wet and cloudy.

The only thing on my horizon is a dark spot that I’d very much like to erase.

I’m feeling excessively grumpy this morning and wish to just lie here and huff.

Ma says I must buck up as it’s International Happiness Day.

I need to be thinking good kind HAPPY thoughts about how my Aunties and Uncles in Ireland must be enjoying the sunshine they are having and that our rugby team won the Triple Crown!

She also says since it’s the feast of Santa Claus in Florence I should not forget that the man in red is watching me.

This may impact the delivery of treasures around the time of the winter solstice.

So I suppose I will just have to grin and bear it and walk with the every bouncy beast and reflect that the sun is out there somewhere even though we can’t see it.

If devils are allowed to be philosophical then so too are angels!

She may think she has been elevated to a two pillow position on my Dads lap at night.

I know better than that though.

He does this to keep her quiet after I’ve given up on pining her in place.

She may think she’s smart and special but it’s me that gets the cookies in the morning.

That’s a lot sweeter than a snooze.

Greeting fans it’s your precious Pitty Princess here with a little philosophy for you.

Granny has been studying a book with her Lily Circle and last night they were talking about Mary and Martha the sisters of Lazarus who was the best mate of Jesus.

They did a quiz and most of the ladies decided they were Martha’s.

I took it too and have come to the opinion that being a Martha is a gals thing. We don’t much care for lazing around like the lads doing nothing but gazing out the window.

We gotta keep busy.

My current project is cleaning.

Since spring is just around the corner I’ve decided to give Granny a hand as our house is very stinky and the men ignore it.

So I’m doing the sofas.

I’m getting into all the nooks and crannies where crumbs accumulate.

Granny is greatly appreciative but Grandpa is growling at me as he loves his old leather.

What do you think don’t I deserve a reward for all these efforts? At least a little word of thanks!Grandpa and Scooby are just old Poohs!

The top of the morning to y’all from O’Scoobydool and O’Nala!!!

In honor of the good Saint Patrick we have decided to make a joint broadcast.

We got off to a great start last night with a new speciality created at the bros pizza shop a corn beef and cabbage special. It was yummy.

We cannot play the pipes or drums but we can march and bark in unison.

Like all good Irish today we are wearing our green and doing our best to look like Wolfhounds!

The good man has as the Irish all hope « turned the sunny side up »

The luck is with us too. The end of the rainbow in some parts of the globe ends in a pot of gold.

In this household though it is very definitely falling on the two of us.

Another great day yesterday talk about saying yippee and kicking the legs up in the air.

Not only did I get another long car ride but my Dad came along too.

He’s feeling so good we got stay out for hours and to have a MacDonalds with hot French Fries for lunch.

They are definitely the best and have my firm stamp of approval.

They may not be good for the diet unless of course you keep up the exercise!

Did I ever tell you I’m the luckiest dog in the world. Apart from having to deal with you know who my little life is bliss.

Yesterday it was wonderful.

Ma had a birthday party booked for 12:30. So since it’s her usual closing day she said to me that I could come along as she wasn’t planning to stay after she’d done the dishes.

Well at 10:20 when we’re on the road she gets a call. The birthday girl is sick and so the party has to be postponed.

What to do she asks me.

Let’s beat on up to work Ma I said since we’re almost there anyway

So that’s what we did.

She went in to drop off a few things and do a bit of decorating for Saint Patricks Day.

I sat and snoozed a little in the car as I was sure I was going to get a trot around the graveyard looking for ancestors. You gotta be rested to concentrate on investigation such as that.

When we hit the road she drove right passed the poor President!

Ma I said we must pay our respects Scooby she said he’ll not mind if we don’t stop today; we’ll take the long way home.

So we took the country roads through the little towns and slowly worked our way home.

While we didn’t make a penny we had a lot of good times together and that’s really what life is all about.
