Mom can be a great embarrassment to me.

As an example, this morning she read a post about the new Harding Museum and jumped in with a proposal concerning myself.

President Harding has been much maligned in the past but he really was a good guy.

The museum is out to set the records straight.

Ma wants to take it to a new dimension. She is suggesting a movie.

There is method in her madness as this could bring thousands of visitors to the town and the Tearoom.

To make matters worse she’s suggesting a staring role for me.

There would probably be lots of treats involved in a staring role so maybe I should play along ( bad pun!)

Blessing # 1031 – Aspirations

The bro was up early this morning. On second thoughts maybe he never went to bed.

Regardless, it was the first time I’d see him in daylight in yonks. He keeps timing along the lines of a vampire.

This morning he must have been refreshed by a midnight transfusion because at 8:30 he’s like Scooby let’s go cruising.

I was like « is the second coming about to happen? »

So off we went.

I cannot for sure tell you where but it was far.

We were gone until 10:30 when, as is usually the case Ma left as they passed like ships in the nights.

I’m all sorted though as we got breakfast on our trip that was much yummier than my usual fare.

Blessing # 1030 – Bagels

My philosophy on life is that you got to make the most of everything. If I get a chance to « go car » I jump at it.

If I’m left home alone a snooze is always helpful. Gets you prepared for the next adventure. If your lucky you might even have a good dream.

You could say I’m a man for all seasons.

Really a bit like that Snoopy dude. Ma has lots of his cuddly versions for sale at the store.

During her clean up at home she found an old candle holder that she says is perfect for merchandising her toys.

Hope she doesn’t get any ideas for setting me up on any pedestals. I’m way too modest for that and also quite capable of lifting myself up!!!

Blessing #1029-Winkwink!

Ma is just home. She says the only time her bum touched a seat today was on the drive to and from work. During that time she reflected on how wonderful it is that the first day of the working week is Wednesday. Hump day done!

I told her not to get too comfortable as I hadn’t been out since 8:00 am. So she condescended to take me out before sitting down.

I’m very pleased for us as this means she has customers who have heard about our little place and that means the more bacon bits for me.

Now I am going to give her a break and without whining will let her wine.

Blessing # 1028-Sit and Sip.

It pays to be patient. While herself cleaned I hung out under the table. I knew it was safe there as she’d blitzed that yesterday.

When she could take no more she said she’d take me downtown as I’d been so good.

Things are looking dandy.

The flowers are all coming out.

The handing baskets and planters are all starting to grow.

Even the splash pad in the park is open again and little kids are playing and screaming with delight.

Many of them want to pet me so I let them as they are so small and innocent.

That feel of summer is in the air and best of all the AC men came while we were out and fixed our system.

The repair didn’t come cheap but comfort is critical to canine contentment.

Blessing # 1027– Being Cool

Ma has gone mad. She is cleaning like there is no tomorrow. Clothes have been flying everywhere!

The house has been assaulted by ever cleaning fluid known to man.

It is stinking of artificial smells that are making me ill.

She is moving furniture. She is moving carpets around. She is cleaning out cupboards.

She is fighting like crazy with the bro because he doesn’t help her.

Fortunately I’m on board because she is unearthing things that we didn’t know we had.

Like my Dad. Now we can see them we know he has twelve belts and twenty white shirts.

I’m such a simple soul just one coat and I’m good. All that cash we’ll save in getting new stuff we already have means SNACKS! Happy munchkin me!

Heaven help me it is continuing after she has that drink buried in the bottles of sterilizer.

Soon it will be dark and she’ll have to stop. You just cannot dust at dusk.

Blessing # 1026-Sunset Soon

The highlight of my day occurred between six and seven am When Ma and I sat on the patio in the cool of the morning.

She drank coffee I watched wildlife.

Thereafter I have had to content myself with gazing out the window as she was working at the mall. At least she was cool. Poor Dad and I are suffocating.

She left the upstairs windows open so I got a different view on the neighborhood.

I’m just glad this AC man is coming on Tuesday.

Blessing #1025-Aired

Even though it’s hot as hades in our home Ma and me have been sleeping extremely well.

She puts it down to not being able to nap during the day as she has work now most days.

I say it’s because we can’t stay awake late anymore.

The morning walks get earlier and earlier before the day heats up which is great.

All the critters are out having their breakfast when we go strolling and they are such fun to watch. Today the geese were bottoms up fishing when we went past the pond.

Ma says it’s like nature study. That’s what ancients called biology.

My philosophy is that as long as the snacks keep coming my way too you can call it whatever you want!

Blessing # 1024-Repos & Repas

Ma was moaning again last night this time about broken biscuits (cookies). She’s mad with Walkers as all the shortbread she bought is broken. It must have suffered severe storm in shipping from Scotland.

I’m like bring it on Ma I’ll eat that just fine. Better than any old dog treat. so she brought it home along with some soggy ginger snaps.

I was like chill girlfriend. This ain’t a big deal.

Life isn’t always a big bowl of cherries.

Unless that is you happen to have the real McCoy and you’re sharing them with your beloved.

I told her this morning to get herself a wee flower from the yard to brighten herself a bit.

So she did as I instructed and they look good.

Best of all she found a ladybird in the lilies. So now she’s all happy because those critters bring good fortune.

What more does she need? After all she already has me!

Blessing # 1023-Lovebugs

I love hunting bunnies. When I see one I freeze and point. Ma knows then she has to hold me real tight or I’ll take off.

This morning I saw a massive one. We stared each other out for a good two minutes before I cracked and tugged.

Didn’t get it! One day I’ll win.

There’s a lot of talk about a certain Bunny called Peter on the TV right now. He is kinda famous. The star of a new movie by all accounts. Ma wants to go but says I can’t accompany her. Sad.

She also has a print of him for sale at the mall and a few look alikes on offer at the tearoom.

Hope the new movie stirs up some interest. She lost a few sales today as a shelf collapsed overnight and broke four of her prized mugs. Could have been worse.

She might have lost a customer if that shelf had fallen during opening hours.
