The bro went for his Covid test this morning now all we have to do is wait for the results. Immediate impact was that Ma had to cancel her dental appointment and call off her work at the mall this afternoon. Both the dentist and Debbie the mall owner fully understood.

We played a little piggy instead.

This uncertainty means Ma and Pa are grounded so we had a walk and then did our scones for the week.

I love scone day because I get the egg wash that Ma puts on top of them microwaved into a little omelette just for me.

That’s my exclusive deal with my Ma. She doesn’t give treats to her granddaughter. It stops with the snuggles.

The tike is trying hard though to get into the action.

Every time Ma opens the pantry door she’s in there.

Must say that she’s taught me a thing or two that little lady.

You should always be ready to snap ever occasion to get a nomnom.

Ma was all excited yesterday morning because her pal Tjin and her son Arthur were coming to stay for the weekend from Wisconsin.

They were to arrive for dinner after their full day road trip and we were all going to eat BBQ.

Well you know it’s our house so nothing goes to plan.

When Ma got in from work at six Aaron was already home. One of his workmates had tested positive for Covid so all those who’d been in contact with this person were sent home.

Ma called Tjin who was about an hour away from our place. Tjin wisely decided since Arthur is only nine and hasn’t been able to get vaccinated yet she’d stay in a hotel.

Ma and Pa stayed home from Church so we got to play a lot which was fun. We are getting along well now and even pulled piggy together.

Aaron tried to get tested this morning and booked a slot in Columbus but when he got there no one was at the test site so he is booked for tomorrow morning.

Tjin and Arthur did come over for a walk with us to our park and fed the ducks and geese and us.

They are now off to Legoland but they will be back for dinner as it’s safe to sit far apart on the patio.

We’ll for sure get another walk with them too.

Our neighbor Karen sent Ma a post about tea etiquette from a blog about all things Victorian.

If you are interested she has now posted it on her Booming Blessings Tea and Treasure page.

Being Ma she couldn’t stop at reading just that article and got into the next chapter of that blog.

That got me and the tike really bored so we started playing and playing up too.

The episode about Lammas told the story of this old style of fair held in Northern Europe including in Ballycastle Northern Ireland each year.

She learned a lot about what it means.

It’s all about breaking bread.

How appropriate that our kitchen is current full of the broken bits of bread all set to be croutoned!

Ma and me woke up real early so we were all set for a good trot when what do you know yet another big thunderstorm rolled in.

The farmers may be happy because the soy and the corn are growing like crazy with all this heat interspersed with wet wet wet weather but it’s no good for critters like me.

Ma says she’s never seen the corn so high.

Fortunately the teacup’s potty training has to continue so we still got to do half a mile as soon as the worst was over and the lightening stopped so she could tinkle.

When we came back since we’d both performed Ma said we could play with pinky and elfie and our big ball.

The tike is good fun for hide and seek. I’m starting to warm to her.

A bit of youth in the house keeps me occupied and gives me something to banter about.

The teacup got to go out with Ma in the car yesterday after work.

I was mad as a mean wolf. Not only does she depose me on the sofa she got to ride up front in MY VEHICLE.

It stormed in her though so she didn’t get to enjoy the window down.

They were no sooner gone than they were back.

That’s when I understood the cause for the ride.

They went to the docs to get her all shot up and she had stuff squirted up her nose too.

So I did feel a bit sorry for her and licked her up nicely and let her play with the fly swat.

Did you know dogs get a coronavirus? Not the same one that’s hurting people but serious stuff.

Thank goodness for science and medicine. It allows us all to sleep more soundly!

This morning we overslept. Nearly missed the trash men and had to call Auntie Denise to say we were running late.

Just as well the mighty midget can wolf down her brekkie in thirty seconds. She eats so fast she get the hiccups which is kinda funny.

When we got back Ma had to have COFFEE as she is no good if not caffeinated.

The tike teased me mercilessly. She snuck under the coffee table and tried to retrieve her squirrel.

I just looked at her that’s all I need to do now to get her back in place.

She has developed a penchant for Dads trainers. Not quite sure what she sees in them because they are as ugly as sin.

Maybe it’s because he never wears them indoors.

The bro brought his baby some new toys yesterday and I decided I deserved them more than she as I’ve been so accommodating.

I took a notion for the stuffed squirrel. So it’s mine. The squirt can borrow my pinky instead. Will match her collar!

She wants it all that little lady. Not only does she have MY crate in the bedroom she is now squatting in this monster mansion that’s meant to be mine.

She has also usurped my spot under the kitchen table at Dads toes.

I was compensated for my tolerance by Ma who just gave me a whole scrambled egg for my gentle nature! I’m still her main man!

I thought I was in heaven this morning. It’s the bro’s day off as he and the teacup were sleeping I got Ma all to myself.

It was like old times no squirming little short leg to annoy me. You know what she did last night?

She actually squeezed herself into the shelf of our coffee table and then to make matters worse snuck up in my place beside Dad.

Ma was reading me her verse of the day.

She’s like « heh Scoob listen up to this »

I’m like take a dose of your own medicine Ma. You’re the one that’s always snapping.

She agreed and chilled and then we walked all the way around Cardinal Hill without tripping over the midget.

I’ll smack her one on the lips later.

The teacup escaped from the palatial home the bro bought her so we’ve swapped housing units.

This is the most luxurious living you can imagine. Takes up half our kitchen. I might have to install a TV.

I’m back in the good books with Ma as I let the tike eat and drink from my bowls. I even shared a bev with her just now.

I have been good to her for nearly 24 hours.

In addition I am teaching her the ropes of sightseeing for bunnies and she is learning fast.

I feel better myself. No point in bearing grudges for too long.

I got myself in deep trouble last night. Ma was at work so when Dad gave me my dinner the teacup tried to eat it.

He’d put a lot of love into my meal like extra tasty bits. Don’t tell Ma that bit. Anyway the «thing » who aspirates rather than chews tried to get it. No way was I allowing that.

I jumped on her like she was pinky and I hurt her. All the other times I’d just frightened her. When Ma heard she said enough is enough. Sat her right up beside her on the sofa she did.

So this morning when I snarled she howled hard at me. Fierce woman and I had to watch « it » lick its lips.

Now I’m under strict surveillance and may be sequestered in solitary if I reoffend and don’t befriend.
